1. Jonny O's instead of Double U.

2. There was no Hub.

3. Campus Candy still existed, not It's Sugar.

4. Actually that side of State Street looked very different (Shout out to Red Mango and the corner store that sold Wisconsin clothes)

5. Significantly more football games started at 11 AM, and tailgating at 7 AM made you feel "so college"

6. Walking up Bascom seemed like a work out (actually it still sometimes does)

7. The bridge that connected Humanities and Vilas. (Will be forever missed)

8. The YikYak app was all the rage. (It's all about that campus snapchat story now)

9. You called Union Cab before going out at night to have your ride set.

10. You tried harder to use a clever Instagram caption (and you definitely used some hashtags too)

11. Handle pulls were a new concept to you

12. You would look around to catch on to the gameday traditions and rituals. Now you're leading the crowd in those cheers.

13. But the one thing that hasn't changed is our undeniable love for all things Badgers.

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.
