13 Things Everyone In Their Early 20s Needs To Hear

1. You do not have to have your entire life figured out.

There is so much pressure to have your entire life figured out fresh out of high school; however, for most people this is not the case. It is entirely OK to be unsure what the future holds.

2. You are still young.

Like I said earlier, you still have time to figure it all out. We are not even halfway through our young lives; we still have so much life left to live. Never feel like you have to stop living or having fun because you have reached a certain age, embrace your inner child.

3. It is OK to make mistakes.

Absolutely no one is perfect. We all make mistakes from time to time. It is how we learn from these mistakes that defines us as human beings.

4. Do not fight change, embrace it.

Change is inevitable, simply embrace it.

5. Begin to accept your body.

You may begin to put on weight or lose your “young figure,” this is all just a part of growing up. We all cannot be a size 00 forever.

6. That fight with your parents is not worth it.

Fighting with your parents is never worth it. Cherish the time you have with them now because when you grow older you will regret any lost time.

7. You do not need to have a million friends.

Remember quality is always more important than quantity when it comes to friendship.

8. Not all friends are meant to stay.

You may grow apart from some friends when you get older and it is OK. Sometimes your lives just take different routes and you may lose a few friends along the way.

9. The relationship you are in right now might not last forever.

Just remember there are other fish in the sea. If you and your significant other decide to part ways, just realize that it is not the end of the world and you most definitely will love again.

10. More hardships are yet to come.

And just like you always do, you will get through them and you will in fact come out on the other side a better person because of it.

11. You do not have to follow in the footsteps of your peers.

Some of your friends might be getting married or having kids, which is something you are just not ready for. You should not feel obligated to follow in their footsteps, do what feels best for your personal situation.

12. There is no “wrong” way to live your life right now.

Whether you are going into the workforce, finishing up college, heading to Grad school, or traveling the world, there is no wrong way to be living your life right now. It is your life, live it the way you want to.

13. Continue to do what makes you happy.

Ultimately, this is your life. Continue to do whatever makes you happy, it will all work out in the end.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
