13 Taylor Swift Lyrics for 13 Different Relationships

I recently received a text from my friend about something her sister had said to her. The text read, “She goes ‘I hate Taylor Swift because she’s never done anything wrong and I hate her for it.” Yes. It’s true. Taylor Swift has quite inevitably been “happy, free, confused and lonely” AND insanely perfect in the best way, and so have her lyrics.

1. For the best friend never turned boyfriend, and the guitar you wish you owned...

“He says he’s so in love, he’s finally got it right, I wonder if he knows he’s all I think about at night.”  – "Teardrops on My Guitar"

2. For the friend that understands you better than anyone else…

“And I don’t try to hide my tears, my secrets or my deepest fears, through it all nobody gets me like you do”  – "I’m Only Me When I’m With You"

3. For the parents who have been with you through the ups and downs...

“I know you were by my side even when I was wrong.” – "The Best Day"

4. For the relationship that once was memorable, and now unforgettable..

“That July 9th, the beat of your heart, it jumps through your shirt I can still feel your arms.” – "Last Kiss"

5. “I do remember the swing of your step, the life of the party, you're showing off again, and I roll my eyes and then you pull me in, I'm not much for dancing, but for you I did. ” – "Last Kiss"

6. “And I know it's long gone, and there was nothing else I could do, and I forget about you long enough, to forget why I needed to...” – "All Too Well"

7. “Well, maybe we got lost in translation, maybe I asked for too much, but maybe this thing was a masterpiece 'til you tore it all up.” – "All Too Well"

8. For the girl that wishes she could go back in time and make everything right again…

“I wish you knew that I’ll never forget you as long as I live.” – "I Wish You Would"

9. For the guy who needs to tell a girl how he actually feels, because nothing is worse than being left in the dark...

Tell her how you must’ve lost your mind, when you left her all alone, and never told her why. ” – "How You Get the Girl"

10. For the guy who made you feel like you were invincible…

“And I don’t know why but with you I’d dance in a storm in my best dress, fearless. ” – "Fearless"

11. For the people who want others to see them for who they truly are…

“Ain’t it funny rumors fly, and I know you heard about me, so hey, let’s be friends, I’m dying to see how this one ends.”  – "Blank Space"

12. For that person who always finds their way back, like high-waisted jeans found their way back from the ‘80s…

“You got that James Dean day dream look in your eye, and I got that red lip classic thing that you like, and when we go crashing down, we come back every time, cause we never go out of style.” – "Style"

13. For the people who realized that love is short and heartbreak comes in all forms, more than once…

“Heartbreak is the national anthem, we sing it proudly" –
"New Romantics"

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
