The struggle is real when it comes to being short, so here are a few examples of what I have to deal with being 5 foot tall.

1. Not being able to see over clothing racks

Yes this is a real struggle and honestly it's pretty embarrassing when you have to yell someone's name just to find them because you can't see them. My family can testify to me yelling "mom" everytime I got shopping because I am so short.

2. Having to look up at everything

Yes this is a huge struggle and it hurts my neck all the time. I probably will need a neck massage soon.

3. Not being able to reach anything

You might as well buy a step stool because you'll need it almost every single day.

4. Having to ask people to get you stuff from shelves

This never fails when it comes to grocery shopping. I am always having to ask someone to get things down for me.

5. Finding pants that are a good length

Ever since I was little I have always had to get my pants hemmed. Finding a pair of jeans or pants that don't bunch up at my ankles will be a day I will never forget.

6. Wearing heels/wedges to make you look taller

Most of the time when I dress up to go out, I always tend to where heels or wedges to make me look like I'm so much taller than what I really am.

7. Having to push your car seat up all the way

The struggle doesn't come real until you're in a car crash and your knees hurt for weeks because you sit so close to the dash.

8. Finding shoes that fit

A lot of short people have small feet and that means looking in the children's section for shoes, which is a huge struggle. It's hard finding shoes that look your age rather than a 12 year old's shoe.

9. Sitting in a chair or on a couch and your feet hang

This seems like a crazy struggle, but 90% of the time I sit down, my feet dangle and it makes me look like I am 12. I will never know the feeling of sitting in a chair with my feet on the ground.

10. Being called a midget

Yes I get called this all the time and it is very offensive. No I am not a midget. Yes I am very short. Get over it.

11. When people use your head or shoulder as an arm rest

This is one of my biggest pet peeves. A lot of people have come up to me and literally have put all of their weight on my shoulder or head just because they are too lazy to stand up on their own.

12. Not looking your age

If I went up to someone right now and asked them how old do they think I look they would probably tell me 12. This is a huge struggle.

13. When a back pack looks like it is swallowing yo whole

When I walk around my campus, I literally look like I am carrying the biggest back pack in the world.

The Battle Between College And My Mental Health

College isn't easy, and I'm afraid I'm not going to make it at the rate my mental health is going.

Everyone tells you that college is hard, but they fail to explain why. Sure, classes are hard. Math sucks, and political science can be so boring. But that's not even what's killing me about college. What's killing me about college is my deterioating mental health.

As a college student, I feel as if people don't understand just how exhausted I, and fellow college students are. We have so many things going on, all the time, and sometimes it's hard to explain to people how we feel. Personally...I'm tired. I'm sad. And I'm struggling every single day with my emotions. But the thing is, it hasn't always been this way. I haven't always hated school, so why am I feeling like this now?

Resting b***h face. Defined as a person, usually a girl, who naturally looks mean when her face is expressionless, without meaning to. Many of you suffer from this "condition." You are commonly asked what's wrong, when nothing is. What people don't know is that is just your facial expression. Here are some things they wish you knew.
