As college students, we all know the struggle of what it actually means to be a college student. It only took me just a few days into my freshman year to understand. They are the initiations that just keep on coming. We love to hate the moments that leave us shoving our head into a pillow and screaming bloody murder. We love to hate the things that truly define us as #socollege.
1. Having no money. Ever.
Apparently there is some unwritten rule that says the second you become a college student, you are automatically broke. Even if you think you have money, you really don't.
2. Trying to eat right but....pizza.
3. Suddenly having to be responsible.
Class? Money? Food? My future? What?
4. Do I continue writing my paper or do I go out on a week night?
Now, I won’t tell you what to do, but I will leave you with these wise quotes:
“The work will get done. Just go out.” -A senior in a Campus Ministry meeting my freshman year.
“The work never ends, but college does.” -Sam, my housemate.
5. Trying to avoid the freshman 15 (plus more).
But... the pizza.
6. Picking your major.
You mean I have to know what I want to do with the rest of my life right now?
7. Always being tired, no matter how much sleep you got the night before.
I may or may not have been known to take five naps a day...sometimes.
8. Buying textbooks.
Is there a decimal point between those zeroes somewhere???
9. To keep watching Netflix or start studying?
But I have to see what happens next!!!
10. Pulling an all-nighter.
This was probably a result of watching that next episode (or five).
11. Registering for classes.
Oh, I only got into one class? You can't override me into that class? No big deal, I'll just fall behind. Or I'll drop out. That sounds easier.
12. Actually being homesick.
Lets face it. Occasionally, we all need mom's home cooked meals and a hug from dad.
13. Hearing your alarm clock the morning after going out.
No, thank you. I'm good with sleep.
