13 Stages Of Your First Semester Of College, As Told By "The Office"

Your first semester of college is over, and now you feel like you're an expert. Soon you'll be taking upper-level courses, obtaining your diploma, and becoming a real adult.

During this time, you experienced some of the most exciting and anxious moments of your life. Since no one displays these feelings better than "The Office," here are moments from the show that represent the 13 stages you definitely went through.

1. Decorating your college dorm with things you don't need.

NBC

Why do I have so many decorative pillows? Do I really need a bunch of random school supplies? How did I end up with so many pens? These are all questions I asked myself during my first semester.

2. Realizing that, even though you read the syllabus, you are just as confused and anxious as you were before.

NBC

Yes, I've read the syllabus, and no, I'm not okay.

3. Waiting for your financial aid to process.

NBC

No, I can't afford to breathe right now, thank you very much.

4. Eating one week at the dining hall turned out to be more than enough.

NBC

Because of course eating grilled cheese sandwiches, cheap burgers, and pizza every day is worth $4,000 a year. Maybe if you keep telling yourself that, you'll finally believe it.

5. Which led you to attempt to cook.

NBC

Honestly, Kevin's chili on the carpet looks more appetizing than what you made. Ramen it is.

6. Learning your way around campus means staying clear of the golf carts.

NBC

If you get hit by a campus golf cart, not a car, can you still get your tuition paid for? I'm out here asking the important questions.

7. Trying to stay awake during your 8:00 a.m. lecture.

NBC

So you thought your 8:00 a.m. lecture wouldn't be bad compared to high school, or maybe you didn't have a choice. Either way, I bet you look like this.

8. Viewing your midterm grades on Canvas.

NBC

This is actual footage of me checking my grades after midterm grades were posted. Canvas? More like Can't-vas.

9. Sprinting to class when you're running late.

NBC

At this point in the semester, it's the small victories that matter, like making it to class in the nick of time. We all know you would much rather be sleeping.

10. Dealing with the protestors and petitioners on campus.

NBC

Are they asking if you are registered to vote? Say you're Canadian. Are they protesting something else? Say you're Canadian and walk faster.

11. Studying becomes mostly composed of "procrastinating" and "distracting others."

NBC

That tiny sliver says "critical thinking," believe it or not.

12. Barely surviving finals week.

NBC

Do yourself a favor and attend a campus event where you can pet puppies. You'll thank me later.

13. Realizing your first semester is finally over.

NBC

Your first semester of college wasn't easy, but you made some unforgettable memories. Cherish the rest of your college years because they'll be over before you know it. As Andy Bernard once said, "I wish there was a way to know you're in the good old days, before you've actually left them."

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is one of my personal favorite holidays because of the Christmas traditions my family upholds generation after generation. After talking to a few of my friends at college, I realized that a lot of them don't really have "Christmas traditions" in their family, and I want to help change that. Here's a list of Christmas traditions that my family does, and anyone can incorporate into their family as well!

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
