It Comes and It Goes

12 Stages of Winter Break

1. Done with finals = Start drinking

It's time to go home. Whether you're a car ride or a plane ride away, you feel so close that you can taste it.

2. Party with all your home friends

When you get home first things first: you have to see all your friends. What better way to see them all but to go out and party with them.

3. Eat all of your hometown delicacies

You've been home for a day or two. You finally have a car at your disposal, so can go out and eat all that food you've been dreaming about while eating dining hall food.

4. Binge watch Netflix series

It's mid-break and you're running out of things to do because you have all the time in the world. Time to start a new Netflix series. Maybe it's even time to start rewatching old series that you loved so much.

5. Run into ex's and other people you don't want to see.

You've been home for so long now that when you start going to breakfast spots and parties, you're bound run into an old acquaintance or an ex boyfriend or girlfriend who you really don't want to see.

6. Start fighting with parents

Living in close proximity with your parents again after being on your own us a recipe for disaster. Naturally, fights start because you are living under their roof and by their rules once again.

7. Start missing your school friends

When you get to the last episode of the season on Netflix, you see something that reminds you of your friends from college. You start to really miss them.

8. Start to miss living on your own

You miss your freedom! You miss coming home whenever, eating whenever, waking up whenever.

9. Start to miss school parties

The "house parties" at home are just not the same as college parties. You're ready too back.

10. Sit like a vegetable on the couch until it's time to go back.

You have nothing left to do at home but wait. So you sit on the couch and count down the hours until you can return to school.

11. Finally reunited with your friends from school!

12. One little thing you forgot...school work.

While yes, it's amazing to be back at school, that does mean you have to start working again.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

eye roll

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"

While this question trend can get annoying, there are a couple of pros to having RBF.

Yify

Another day, another Elle Woods comment. Can’t us blondes get through the day without someone harping at us over the typical stereotypes about who we are? I never understood why a person was judged based upon the hair color they were born with, or the hair color they choose to have (unless you dye your hair blue like Kylie Jenner, I’m still trying to understand why that’s a trend). Nevertheless, as it should be assumed, not everyone is the same. Not all blondes like bright colors and Lilly Pulitzer, and not all blondes claim to identify with Marilyn Monroe. I think the best suggestion to give to people before they make such radical claims is to stop judging a book by its cover. Or in this case, stop judging a blonde by her hair color.
