13 Stages Of Getting Sick In College

In college one person can never get sick. No. No. No. When one person gets sick? We all get sick and we keep getting sick; there's no stopping it. So, here are the 13 stages.

1. "Oh, _____ is sick, he/she isn't coming."

And so it begins! The first person is infected. It may be a stomach bug, or strep or the flu, but it's definitely contagious...

2. The sniffles and sneezing and coughing in class start.

While it's not enough for anyone to miss coming in, it is enough for everyone to start getting cranky. Not to mention the disease is in your breathing air!

3. You start drinking a lot of OJ.

You're just hoping you can be the one in a million! That you can avoid it and be the survivor. If you could wear a face mask to keep it away you would!

Avoid, avoid, avoid.

4. Your roommates get it.

Oh, God. It's in your home now. No escaping. You see your roommates walking like zombies, your house smells like soup, the trash cans are filled with tissues, you're all quickly running out of tea, and medicine is scattered everywhere!

5. You feel it coming on.

It could start with a scratchy throat or a stuffy nose or a headache here and a cough there, but you know you've got it.

6. You are in denial.

You're head may be fuzzy! You may be coughing up a storm! You may even feel a little nauseous? But you are not sick; you do not have time for that!

7. Something that you can't ignore happens.

You either throw up or can't swallow your food or you have a fever! Whatever it is, the denial gets knocked out of you.

8. Acceptance.

You've got to suck it up and go to health services, because you cannot live this way.

9. R & R (kind of).

Some medicine, tea, and sleep is what you need, and you really try! But you've still got homework to do.

10. You're good enough to go back to class.

Not at 100 percent but you can suffer through it, right?

11. You get worse.

That's what you get for pushing it

12. You're finally better!

Thank goodness. See, sickness? You can't beat me!

13. Someone in class is out again!

Oh no, here we go.

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
