When we were kids, all we wanted to do was grow up. (Flashback to all those times in second grade playing House). Suddenly, adulthood springs on you out of nowhere, and with adulthood comes adult responsibilities.
1. When you first strike out on your own and are still caught in the excitement of your new "freedom" and independence
2. When it suddenly hits you that--wait a minute, you're an adult
3. And so you try and pull rank with anyone who dares to question you
4. Except in reality, it's all a cover
5. That moment when reality sets in after the bills first arrive
6. And yet, you still need to buy certain household items that you once took for granted
7. Realizing that lawn chairs are no substitute for an actual sofa
8. And then later trying to follow the instruction manual for your new dining room table
9. Finally admitting you need help
10. Only to receive a pep talk with no actual physical assistance
11. Giving up on your unrealistic childhood dreams...like having a stable job, owning a house and starting a family
12. Deciding that maybe adulthood just isn't for you
13. But knowing that, no matter what, you gave it your best shot
And now, if you need me, I'll be packing my bags and headed for Neverland. Anyone is welcome to join me.
