If you're on the verge of a breakup, going through the tough recovery process, or you're in the aftermath, these are 13 songs to certainty put you right back in your feelings. Caution: Listen at your own risk! Don't say I didn't warn you. I've even gone as far as to rate them for you, on a scale from 1-10, with 10 being absolute heartache, and 1 being a little bothered.


  1. “Burn” - Usher: Rate - 7/10. This song will make you turn into an absolute hot mess if you're already in a vulnerable state.
  2. “Easy” - Rascal Flatts: Rate - 9/10. Straight tears.
  3. Vice” - Miranda Lambert: Rate - 11/10. Seriously, don't listen to this before you finish whatever tasks you have left to do. You're going to need some real recovery time. Miranda, I feel you girl.
  4. “Over You” - Miranda Lambert: Rate - 8/10. Man, does this woman really know how to sing about some heartbreak. This is another big one, y'all. Grab the tissues.
  5. “Drop in the Ocean” - Ron Pope: Rate - 5/10. This is a middle of the road type of song. You'll survive.
  6. “Way with Words” - Blake Shelton: Rate - 6/10. This one is more of a "heck yeah, he/she sucks" song. Recommend if you're in the recovery stage.
  7. “Send My Love” - Adele: Rate - 3/10. You're over him/her. You don't care that y'all didn't work out. You finally have your mind together and you just wish the next guy/girl better luck than you had. Minimal tears with this one.
  8. “To the Left” - Beyonce: Rate - 4/10. You're pissed off, and rightfully so. Queen Bey gets you in the mindset to tell that boy bye.
  9. “Hold Up” - Beyonce: Rate - 12/10. You're going to feel like the baddest girl in the world, also super sad because of your situation, overall extremely emotional, and still very powerful. She's a Queen.
  10. “Wake Me Up When September Ends” - Green Day: Rate - 3/10 - Pretty sad song in general. Not necessarily about the same thing but it always puts me in a sad mood.
  11. “Whiskey Lullaby” - Brad Paisley: Rate - 7/10. TEARS.
  12. “I Hope You Dance” - Lee Ann Womack: Rate - 6/10. Girrrrrl, (or boy), prep yourself for this one.
  13. “Doing it Wrong” - Drake: Rate - 4/10. Throwback for ya. This isn't really the saddest song ever created, but it'll certainly make you feel a bit down. Until you remember how gorgoues Drake is, and then everything is fine again.
