For some reason, we all crave that feeling of nostalgia. Just seeing or hearing something that will take you back to childhood. Maybe there is some deep psychological explanation to it, but nostalgia is such a great feeling. Plus, let's face it: Early 2000's music was way better than what is on the radio right now. I scoured through my entire music library, pulled out all of my old Now CDs (I cannot believe I have Now 8!) and was able to narrow down all of that music to 13 of my favorites. Tears were shed, memories were reminisced, but here are 13 songs from the early 2000's that will take you back to the good ole days.

1. Avril Lavigne - "Complicated"

Back when we were all like 6 years old, we all dreamed about being as punk and cool as Avril.

2. Breaking Benjamin - "Diary of Jane"

3. Michelle Branch - "Everywhere"

4. Yellowcard - "Ocean Avenue"

We all used to hope and pray that our teenage years would be like this.

5. OutKast - "Hey Ya!"

"Alright alright alright alright alright alright alright..."

6. Beyonce ft. Jay-Z - "Crazy in Love"

The song that brought them together.

7. JoJo - Leave (Get Out)

8. Ciara - "One, Two Step"

9. Britney Spears - "Toxic"

10. Ryan Cabrera - "On the Way Down"

By the way, he is still making music! I saw him live back in 2015.

11. Destiny's Child - "Say My Name"

12. Gwen Stefani - "Hollaback Girl"

Admit it, you still sing this in your head when you spell "bananas."

13. Vanessa Carlton - "A Thousand Miles"

This one is not necessarily a throwback because of White Chicks and memes, but it still throws me back.

***Bonus Track***

Jonas Brothers - "When You Look Me in The Eyes"

Just because this song hits all of my 10 year old feels, and we all used to pretend that one of the brothers was serenading us with this song.

Being a part of any organization undoubtedly comes with the pitfalls of being grouped into negative stereotypes, and sororities are certainly no exception. Well all those fundraisers and marketing should would be a waste then wouldn't they?

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.
