They say your dog's your best friend, but have you ever caught yourself being obsessed? Most people take in a pet as a companion; however, pets soon become your entire life. If you share my pet obsession, all of these will apply to you.

1. You avoid going out with friends just so you can spend the night in with them.

Your pet will probably be jealous if you go out with the girlfriends, so you might as well stay in with him. Cuddles and pajamas all night!

2. You spend more money on pet toys than your wardrobe.

The pet store takes a majority of your money; luxury catnip and stuffed toys for pooch, discount sweaters for you.

3. You could knit a blanket with all of the pet hair that collects.

There’s no telling how much fur is in your house. In memory of your pet, you’ve thought about knitting a throw from his furs.

4. You refer to your pet as either your child or your sibling.

When you got your pet, he immediately took your last name and joined the family. Just an extra furry child, right?

5. Your social media is filled with pictures of your pooch.

The moment you see your cat in the cutest position, your first thought is "that would make a great Instagram post!"

6. Not to mention your Camera Roll…

And you can't just take one photo, so you snap until your heart's content.

7. Your fragrance of choice is kibble or litter.

Smelling like kitty litter or pet food is just one of the downsides of being a pet owner. But hey, it's almost as good as Chanel N°5, right?

8. You refuse to let your furry friend sleep anywhere other than your bed.

Cuddles all night are the way to go. Chances are, you've ditched the crate and are ready to snuggle up to your favorite animal.

9. In fact, you may start to like them more than your significant other.

Who's the third wheel in your marriage: the dog or the husband? The world may never know.

10. Pet-friendly hotels are the only place you’ll stay.

You'd never want your pet to miss out on a family vacation; pack his bags and hope he doesn't destroy the hotel pillows!

11. You begin to talk to your pet as if they can understand.

It's a good thing your pet can't talk, cause they'd spill all of your dirty secrets. In reality, your pet makes a great therapist.

12. Your pet is annoyed with how much you pet them.

If your dog could talk he'd yell at you for all of the attention he's getting, but the pet-obsessed can't help but give their pooch a pat.

13. Your famous one-liner is “I can’t, I’m on pet duty.”

You're either walking your dog, scooping the litter, or changing the cage. Pet duty is a major responsibility (and social life suicide) but it's all worth it when they snuggle up to you.

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

1. The awkward hellos on move-in day.

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. As you walk away, you will wonder if they will ever speak to you again, but don't worry, there's a good chance that you will make some great friends on your floor!

Recently I completed my freshman year of college, and boy, what an experience. It was a completely new learning environment and I can't believe how much I learned. In an effort to save time, here are the ten biggest lessons I learned from my first year of college.

1. Everyone is in the same boat

For me, the scariest part of starting school was that I was alone, that I wouldn't be able to make any friends and that I would stick out. Despite being told time and time again that everyone had these same feelings, it didn't really click until the first day when I saw all the other freshman looking as uneasy and uncomfortable as me. Therefore, I cannot stress this enough, everyone is feeling as nervous as you.
