13 Reasons Why We Love 13 Reasons Why

13 Reasons Why took Netflix by storm, and quickly became the most tweeted about show, ever since its debut on March 31st. However, I, and I am sure those of you who have watched it, are not surprised by these facts. For any of you who have not heard of this show, I beg you to watch it! I am sure that there are a billion different reasons as to why the world is raving about this show, but here are 13 reasons why I love this show.

1. The Boys

You can try and watch this show and not fall in love with most of the male characters, but you would fail miserably. Even though half of them are on Hannah's tapes, you can't help but fall in love with their dreaminess.

2. The Girls

As I did, I am sure most of you fell in love with Hannah, I mean how can you not, As for the rest of them, even though most of the girls are also on Hannah's tapes, you can't help but find yourself wanting to be besties with most, if not all, of them.

3. The Drama

While we all can agree we dislike having drama in our own lives, we certainly love watching it. While we winced as we saw how mean some of the characters could be, we couldn't help but have our eyes glued to the screen as the drama developed. The show fills us with so many emotions at one time that I liked characters in one episode and hated them twice as much the next episode. Talk about a stressful show!

4. The Actors

I do not think I have ever watched a tv show with so much crying as this one. You have to have talented actors who can cry on demand like majority of these characters do. There are many television shows that have great writing and fantastic plots, but without talented actors, shows can be unbearable to watch. I am sure all of you used a full box of tissues for your tears, I know I did, in the final episode when Hannah's mom (Kate Walsh) finds Hannah deceased in their very own home.

5. Characters Reunite

For all of you Grey's anatomy fans I am sure you know that Kate Walsh (Mrs. Baker) played the lovely and witty Addison Montgomery on Grey's anatomy for a couple of seasons. Well did you know that our very own Clay Jensen (Dylan Minnette) was in an episode of Greys anatomy too? In 2007 he appeared in the episode "Haunt You Every Day" and played a little boy named Ryan. Or as most Greys fans know him as 'the boy who wished for new ears.' And look at how cute he was!

6. The Producer

While most of us know her for her very popular and pleasing to the ear music, for those of you who don't know, Selena Gomez was the executive producer of 13 Reasons Why. If you didn't love her for her music, or her starring role on Wizards of Waverly Place I am sure you love her now. She even has a song that is featured in the movie called "Only You."

7. The Serious Topics

This show touches and divulges into many different serious topics, such as suicide, bullying, rape, and drunk driving, among others. The way that the show portrayed these tough scenarios were thought out very carefully, as to not only spread awareness to the viewers but to show how whether we may know it or not the choices we make can impact many people. It reminds us that we are not alone, and there are people (like Clay) who DO care, as well as many programs for those struggling with anything.

8. Romance

Despite the fact that we all knew Hannah's life would come to an end by the time the show was finished, we all rooted for her and Clay from the moment that they met. They were adorable in the short time they had together, I mean how could you not love either of them?!

9. The Courtney Banter

The show was getting so serious at the end we all needed some comic relief. Luckily you can find that in episode 12 around the 22 minute mark when Ryan, Marcus, Alex, Zach, Courtney, and Tyler are all sitting around the table talking about the tapes. And Courtney, being Courtney, causes some backhanded comments from Ryan that are really quite funny.

10. Clay's Tape

We all LOVE Clay Jensen, there are no if's and's or's or but's about it. Whether it is because of his quirkiness, his truth-seeking, or his love for Hannah that made you fall in love with him, the point is you're in love with him. And I do not blame you. So I am sure that you were as relieved as I was to find that Hannah said herself that he shouldn't be on his tapes but that he was just part of her story. That was a real breath of relief, because what could poor innocent Clay have done besides care for Hannah?

11. Tony's Role

While I was very confused at first as to why Tony had the tapes, and what his role was in all of this besides making sure the tapes got from one person to the next, and that they were listened to, at the end it all became clear. As Tony started to confide in Clay and Clay in Tony, a beautiful Bromance was formed that we all undoubtedly love. Tony became Clay's guidance and Clay became Tony's confidant. And who didn't love that hug in episode 11 when Clay was listening to his own tape?

12. The Message

While there are already a million messages I can think of off the top of my head that this show makes clear, the biggest and loudest one is BE KIND. Hannah committed suicide because she was bullied, among many other things, but bullied is the short answer. Treat others with kindness and respect and you will regret nothing in live. Spread the happiness!

13. Clay

Okay I know I mentioned him so many times already but he deserves his own number. The casting director did something right when he casted Dylan Minnette as Clay and the lead male role. He is a very loveable character, one of the good one's as Hannah would put it. Call me a Clay fanatic but he deserves to be the 13th reason why we all love 13 Reasons Why.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.

Dear Mom,

You took care of me and my brothers our entire lives and you still continue to! I will not be able to truly grasp all of the hard work that you put into this family until I create my own one day. But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:

College is hard. As people ages 18-22, we’re just trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, our careers, our eating habits, exercise routines, sleep patterns, and other necessities for adult life. We definitely don’t take proper care of ourselves; it’s basically impossible when we have essays, tests and readings due and somehow we’re supposed to eat right, exercise and sleep. We’re doomed to get sick. I have zero experience in science but when I get sick there are certain things I do to make myself better.
