"13 Reasons Why" is more then just your average Netflix series. If interpreted on a deeper level, many parallels with reality can be tied together. 13 reasons depicts the life of a girl that struggles with many things people in this world struggle with. By paying close attention and learning from what has happened to Hannah, the main character who ultimately takes her own life. Here are 13 of the most important reasons why we need to pay attention to the real life cenarios that occur in this very popular Netflix series.

1. It depicts the sad reality that can be life.

Everybody has something they struggle with in life. A lot of times, we don’t understand what is somebody else’s reality. It’s important that we’re all available to listen and appreciate others.

2. It shows how badly we treat one another.

I think we can all agree that this world needs some change.

3. It proves that even a slight smile can brighten anyone’s day.

When Hannah would just glance at Clay, things would feel better for just them couple of seconds. Not only does smiling make you feel happier, but it puts others in a more positive mood as well.

4. It demonstrates that you’re never in this alone.

There are so many different resources you can take advantage of if you need help with any sort of problem. Next to the state of the art professionals, there is always someone (a classmate, friend, family member, relative) who cares about you to listen to your problems and even offer advice based on their experiences.

5. It depicts the idea that you lead an important legacy.

Everything happens for a reason, and you are no accident. You are here to achieve some greatness to fit some plan that will make an impact on this world. Don’t sell yourself short of your greatness.

6. It proves gossip kills the soul.

Nobody likes to hear bad things about themselves. Yet, we all judge others based on their appearance, actions, or mistakes from their past. Instead, we should treat others like real people, like the way we wish to be treated.

7. It shows that people face more “problems” than you see on the surface.

Everyone has a secret. Whether it be big or small, there are things we don’t know about others or how they may live their life. That beautiful model walking that runway making millions may actually not have the life she wishes to live.

8. It validates that high school drama and rumors may feel like it’s the end of the world, but it’s not.

High school may feel like it lasts forever, but it doesn’t. As painful as some people’s words can be, they actually are just words. Never let somebody else’s words define you.

9. It verifies that w need to pay more attention.

Particularly, pay attention to what life gives you. Pay attention to the little things you experience each day. Pick apart the decisions you make and the outcomes they present in your life. Not only are you helping yourself become a better person, but you could help others through difficult situations by the things you’ve experienced.

10. Think through your choices.

I shouldn’t even be the one talking about this. Everything you do in life is a decision. From getting up in the morning to ordering food at your favorite restaurant, you decide what to do with your life. Undoubtedly, these decisions are a lot easier than some of the bigger things life throws at us.

11. Don’t turn others away; don’t be that bully.

Treating others better will go a long way in the end.

12. It shows that you are not a burden.

Each person is unique in their own way. Nobody can take this away from you.

13. Death is a permanent solution to a temporary problem.

Some things in life are too difficult to handle on your own. There are people who care about you and love you for whole you truly are. Try to find the beauty in the little things you learned to love before. Believe that things will get better and you will find a solution.

No Matter How Challenging School Gets, You Have To Put Your Health First — A Degree Won't Mean Anything If You're Dead

Some of the best advice I've ever received was from my social studies teacher in sophomore year of high school. He stated, "If you don't know it at midnight, you're not going to know it for the 8 a.m. exam, so get some sleep."

It's such a simple piece of advice, but it holds so much accuracy and it's something that the majority of college students need to hear and listen to. "All-nighters" are a commonality on college campuses in order to cram in studying for an exam that is typically the next day.

girl with a hat

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

too tired to care

We've all been there. From move-in day to the first finals week in college, your first term is an adventure from start to finish. In honor of college decisions coming out recently, I want to recap some of the most common experiences college freshmen experience.

1. The awkward hellos on move-in day.

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. As you walk away, you will wonder if they will ever speak to you again, but don't worry, there's a good chance that you will make some great friends on your floor!
