1. You already bought concert tickets for a show next month.

2. Your dog needs you to feed him.

3. Your younger sister needs you to teach her how to put on make-up.

4. Your older brother is getting married in the fall.

5. Your best friend will no longer have a best friend.

6. The plants in your room will die.

7. Your favorite band is about to release a new album.

8. You haven't gotten that tattoo yet.

9. You haven't seen the season finale of your favorite show.

10. You're about to finish paying off your car.

11. You haven't finished the book you're reading.

12. You have an unfinished bucket list.

13. Everyone will miss you, and it will destroy all of the people who love you.

There is no such thing as a stupid reason not to kill yourself. Maybe your school sells cookies on Thursdays and it's only Monday. Maybe you have five sodas in your fridge and it would be a shame to let them go to waste. Your reasons don't have to be anything big. If they mean something to you, then they are good reasons. I have something to look forward to, so I am going to keep living.

Even things that seem absolutely trivial, like "I'm the only one who takes out the trash, anyways," are essential examples of how you are needed, valuable, and appreciated.

There are people out there that need you and love you. Stay alive. It's worth it.

If you are feeling depressed or considering taking your own life, please call the National Suicide Prevention Line at 1-800-273-TALK or text HOME to 741-741. And remember, you are loved. You are valuable. You are worth a life.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.
