13 Reasons Why You Should Listen To Taylor Swift On Your Next Road Trip

Have you ever struggled to find the Perfect playlist to listen to while taking a road trip? You never want to sit down and make a playlist because, let’s be honest, that takes work. But what artist can you just put on, shuffle, and drive? Well, look no further, I have an answer for your long drive music troubles. The perfect artist to listen to is *drum roll please* Taylor Swift.

Okay, okay, before you go getting all judgmental on me. Here are 13 song lyrics that prove she is perfect for all your long drive needs.

1. “Cause baby now we got bad blood”

This song is literally the anthem for every person who cuts you off in traffic. This song, and other Taylor Swift songs (such as Better Than Revenge or We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together) are PERFECT for when you're so frustrated in traffic, or at all those terrible drivers that you just want to scream.

2. “Someday I’ll be livin’ in a big ol’ city”

Now that you've calmed down a bit you'll be ready to accept the fact that the person who cut you off is only ever gonna be mean. And Taylor has the perfect song to help you do it.

3. “Nothing safe is worth the drive”

One of my all time favorite songs by Taylor Swift. Since you're no longer ready to cut off somebody's head, you can switch gears and enjoy this amazing, beautiful song.

4. “I’d like to be my old self again but I’m still trying to find it”

You know, every road trip needs a sad song, or a few. Especially if you're driving at night. Not such a sad song that you start crying, but just sad enough to make you replay all your past relationships and mistakes. Taylor's got you covered.

5. “Corey’s eyes are like a jungle / He smiles, it’s like the radio”

Now that you've just believed that love is completely pointless and will just end up hurting you, have your faith restored. This song is just way too cute. It's everything you could want in a nice, upbeat, love song. If you want another similar cute love song try Hey Stephen.

6. “There’s something about the way the street looks when it’s just rained”

Another, good, happy, upbeat song, to just cruise along to. Especially good if it's raining out.

7. “I just realized everything I have is someday gonna be gone”

Arguably one of the best and most devastatingly sad Taylor Swift songs. But this song (along with songs like Best Day or I'm Only Me When I'm With You) is about nostalgia. Reflecting on your childhood, letting all those memories flow back to you. Remembering what it felt like to be a kid. And what better time to do that than on this long road trip?

8. “Oh I’m just a girl tryin’ to find a place in this world”

So now that you've been thoroughly depressed about growing up, it's time you find your place in this world! This song is off her very first album (Taylor Swift) and is absolutely amazing! (Also totally fits into the theme of you driving and trying to find your place quite literally if you get lost)

9. “But I took your matches before fire could catch me so don’t look now”

Okay, I know, it's kind of a sad one. But this song is FANTASTIC if you need a good scream session. Just to get it all out there. I literally will blast this song and sing at the top of my lungs along to it.

10. “It was good, never lookin’ down, and right there where we stood was holy ground"

As you approach your destination, perhaps you are returning to your home town. In which case this song works perfectly (if not, you can still reminisce anyway). This song is perfect for that first love that just was innocent in a way that other loves won't be. And while you were angry/sad/devastated before, now you can reflect on how special it was.

11. “I had the time of my life fighting dragons with you”

This is another song that is really good for reminiscing about old times. And just an overall amazing feel good song.

12. “You’ll spend your whole life singin’ the blues if you keep thinkin’ that way”

This song is just so happy. It's just a nice song to drive with your windows down and forget all your troubles to. Which, Taylor has a lot of those (see Stay Stay Stay, Mine, or Mary's Song).

13. “We’re so young, but we’re on the road to ruin”

This song will make you just want to get up and dance! Such a good song to really jam out to and let go.

Obviously this list could go on and on, but I think I've made my argument. So go, get all her CDs, and just shuffle Taylor Swift on your next road trip. You won't be sorry.

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is one of my personal favorite holidays because of the Christmas traditions my family upholds generation after generation. After talking to a few of my friends at college, I realized that a lot of them don't really have "Christmas traditions" in their family, and I want to help change that. Here's a list of Christmas traditions that my family does, and anyone can incorporate into their family as well!
