13 Reasons Why Ice Cream Is The Best
Chris Gibson

Ice cream was made available to the masses in the 17th century. Ever since then, it has become the most important thing in the entire universe. That is a proven fact. Here are 13 reasons why ice cream is literally the best thing in the whole wide world; as if you needed me to tell you.

1. Ice cream will never leave you.

There will always be ice cream.

2. It is delicious.

It is creamy and decadent. It is everything the world needs but doesn't deserve.

3. There are many flavors.

Sweet. Salty. Sweet AND Salty! There are 102 flavors of Ben and Jerry's alone! Ice cream brings endless possibilities.

4. Perfect for hot days.

Need something to cool you down on a scorching hot day? No problem! Grab yourself some cool, refreshing ice cream.

5. Great for chilly days.

I know what you're thinking. Why would you eat ice cream on a cold day? Well, if it's cold outside you should be inside snuggled up in blankets and watching Netflix. Snuggles and ice cream go together like chocolate and peanut butter; which also make a delicious ice cream flavor.

5. Can be eaten for breakfast.

Waffles à la mode, french toast à la mode, pancakes à la mode, ice cream à la mode?

6. Can be eaten anytime.

It's not just dessert, it's ice cream. If you truly believe in yourself you can eat it for every meal.

7. Different brands.

There is Häagen-Dazs, Turkey Hill, Perry's, and a gazillion other brands to choose from. If you like fancy ingredients like pure cane sugar, there's a brand for you! If you're allergic to tree nuts, peanuts, gluten, soy, and red #40, there is a brand for you! If you're a vegan, there's a brand for you!

8. Healthy options.

On a diet but still want to treat yo self? Diet on ice cream. There are low calorie and even protein packed options!

9. Buy it anywhere.

Get it at an ice cream shop. Get it at the restaurant you're having dinner at. Get it at the grocery store. Get it at the corner store. Get it at the gas station.

10. It comes in different forms.

Hard ice cream. Soft serve. Ice cream bars. Ice cream sandwiches. Dippin' Dots. Milkshakes.

11. It is easy to make.

Put vanilla, sugar and milk in a plastic zip bag, but ice and salt in a larger zip bag. Put milk mixture bag inside bigger bag and shake until firm. Super fancy.

12. Cute little trucks deliver it.

Ice cream trucks are the most important things ever. Enough said.

13. It won't judge you.

Ice cream doesn't judge. Ice cream is an inanimate object. So, eat it with a fork. Eat a whole pint. Hell, eat a gallon. Do whatever you want because ice cream doesn't care.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
