13 Quotes To Read After A Bad Week
Movoto

This week has been absolutely awful, I am not going to lie. It wasn't just a bad day, it was a bad week. I feel like doing nothing more than falling into bed and staying there for several hours. It feels like a mixture between getting hit in the face with Rapunzel's frying pan and being a contestant on "Jeopardy" for 24 hours straight. My brain and my body need a break. As I was beginning to think about what to write about it, nothing seems more fitting than to write about exactly what I need to hear at this time too. So here are 13 quotes to read after a bad week.

1. You're human, it's OK to not always be so happy and put together.

2.

3. “Let perseverance be your engine and hope your fuel.”—H. Jackson Brown, Jr.

4.

5. Say this quote again and again until you actually believe it. You're doing your best and that is all that matters

6. "God already knows what we're made of, but perhaps He wants us to learn what we're made of. I think we would all agree that we learn more from our tough times than from our easy times." -John Bytheway

Take this bad week as an opportunity to not only realize God wouldn't give you something you couldn't handle, but also as chance to figure out yourself and the lessons that can be learned from this obstacle.

7. “Your journey has molded you for your greater good, and it was exactly what it needed to be. Don’t think you’ve lost time. There is no short-cutting to life. It took each and every situation you have encountered to bring you to the now. And now is right on time.” – Asha Tyson

Remind yourself that everything happens for a reason and that this moment is only a bump in the road on the pathway to leading you to something greater.

8. These past 7 days have sucked, that's a fact, but don't let them alter future ones.

9. “Courage doesn’t always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day, saying, 'I will try again tomorrow.'”

Often times in our society, we try to deal with hard times in our life by just acting like we’re completely fine even though we’re not and it is quite unhealthy. You are allowed to feel pain and hurt and disappointment. You are allowed to grieve. You are not a machine. So feel what you’re feeling right now but then eventually, get up, brush yourself off and find the strength to try again the next day. That itself is courageous.

10.11. "What winning is to me is not giving up, is no matter what's thrown at me, I can take it. And I can keep going." -Patrick Swayze

Choose to fight for better days. Fight to make yourself proud. Fight for the dreams you've always wanted to accomplish. Fight like Patrick Swayze is waiting for you at the finish line. No matter what you have to think about to get through your worse days, make a promise to yourself to keep moving forward.

12.

13. “Obstacles don’t have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don’t turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it.” – Michael Jordan

This one is especially meaningful to me because so many times I find myself endlessly wondering “why” when something goes wrong. Yet there are times where I find myself facing the same obstacle and once again, I wonder “why.” Why did this happen to me? Why did this have to happen? Why am I facing this again? Well I have realized over time that the reason I sometimes face an obstacle twice is because I never tried to do anything different when the hard event occurred the first time. If I got a bad grade on a test, I was so caught up in this blur of frustrated emotions that I did not think clearly on what I could have done differently to make sure that I would not repeat what happened prior. And inevitably, I got a bad grade again. Bad things happen, some of them preventable from happening again, but you have to learn from your mistakes to prevent future pain.

Bad weeks are going to happen, that is just how life is. So right now, feel the pain, hurt, and disappointment. Allow yourself to grieve. Eat frosting (I suggest the vanilla kind), scoop ice cream directly out of the container (moose tracks is bomb), jog to burn off steam, watch episodes on Netflix(" Grey's Anatomy," "Orange is the New Black," "How I Met Your Mother," "Friends," "The Office" are a few of my favs), get on Tumblr, take a nap (the ultimate gift in college), journal, call home, or watch movies. Do whatever it is you need to help yourself relax and recover. Know that this has been a bad week but it is certainly not a bad life. And know that only you can make the next week better. We can get through this, together.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.
