Stillwater is famously home to Oklahoma State University. Every fall returning students flood to their regular hangouts and eateries in Stillwater, some well-known and others are just native to Stillwater. It can be hard for a freshman to know what all there is to do here, so here are just some places that all incoming freshman need to know about for eating, studying, or just hanging out. I realize that this is mostly food, but you're definitely going to eat a lot here.

1. Fuzzy's Taco Shop

Fuzzy's is the best and it's right on The Strip! Of course, you freshman can't have too much fun on The Strip, but at least you can awesome food with your friends close to campus!

2. Tumbleweed

Tumbleweed is a great place to go out with friends! Calf Fry and the Rawhide Festival are here every year. And this year Ludacris will be here, so don't skip on tickets!

3. West Side Cafe

West Side Cafe is on campus on the second floor of the Human Sciences building! West Side is ran by students and is probably the best place to eat on campus.

4. Cafe 88

It doesn't look like much, but Cafe 88 is a great place to eat! Plus, it's on Knoblock so it's crazy close to the campus. You could grab lunch really quick before class!

5. Aspen Coffee

Forget about Starbucks, because Aspen is where it's at. Stillwater has three locations, and one having a drive-thru, so it is always accessible.

6. The 4th Floor at Edmon Low

The library is one of the busiest places on campus. The first two floors are for computer needs and group studies, but if you go up to the 4th floor there is plenty of single quiet study areas. And don't be surprised if you see people sleeping there during finals week.

7. Lake Boomer

There are a couple lakes around Stillwater, but what makes Lake Boomer so great is that it's basically in town. You could go here for picnics, a run around the lake, to walk your dog, or just to relax.

8. El Bto Vaquero

El Vaq on the strip is a great place to get Mexican food for a great price, and it's so close to campus.

9. Main Street Noodle

Main Street Noodle has great sushi and ramen that all college students love! It's located in downtown Stillwater.

10. Blue Spruce

Blue Spruce is a gelato and sorbet shop, and it is amazing! This is a great place to hang out with friends and see live music on the weekends. Also, located downtown.

11. Granny's Kitchen

Granny's is a staple in Stillwater. The breakfast there is what has made it famous to the students of OSU. There is always a line on the weekends, so I suggest going on a week day. Also, get the cinnamon roll!

12. Shortcakes Diner

Shortcakes is located on Main Street. Everything on their menu is magical, and there isn't anything over $10! For a broke college kid, and you will be one at some point, that's the dream. (My unpopular opinion: Shortcakes is better than Granny's.)

13. Eskimo Joe's

Probably the most famous restaurant in Oklahoma is Eskimo Joe's. Always packed, but their chili-cheese fries are so worth it. I'm pretty sure that this is the burger joint to go to in Stillwater.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
