The holiday season has arrived, and for many of us, it means: sleeping too much, eating too much, shopping too much and maybe drinking too much. Whatever happens on your holidays, maybe you can relate to one or more of these GIFs that perfectly sum up the holidays.

1. When winter break first starts

You're finally home from university and, whether you have homework due after the break or not, you need to sleep. You consider moving to a cave where you can stay for three years and hibernate...maybe longer.

2. Having to explain, once again, that you're still single

Why are you so interested in my relationship status, mom? Nothing has changed. You'd know if it had. Still just me.

3. Talking to "that" family member you can't stand

Because they're family, they have to be at Thanksgiving dinner...and Christmas. And because it's a holiday, you don't want to be the bad egg and start anything controversial, so you just grin and bear their comments for everyone's sake.

4. Approaching the Thanksgiving feast

When the words "Time to eat" are spoken, you are euphoric. Three little words and I'm yours.

5. When you've eaten so much you can barely move, but you still want to eat more

You've officially eaten yourself into a coma, but then you remember dessert. Because you have no self-control and because everyone knows the dessert stomach is a separate organ, you have to make sure to eat at least a little something.

6. On Black Friday, you're Christmas shopping

Right after you feast, you shop. You treat yo self and everyone on your Christmas shopping list. Your bank account cries.

7. Heading out for winter break

When winter break arrives, you're out. No time for pretending you'll keep in touch. You know it's going to be radio silence.

8. Christmas with your family

Christmas with family is all about appreciating one another and eating more delicious food, all while singing Christmas carols...or at least trying to sing Christmas carols.

9. Christmas with your friends

Whether you do gift exchanges or Secret Santa or just receive a cute festive text day-of, you know they've got your back and you can celebrate Christmas together even when you're miles apart.

10. At the beginning of New Year's Eve

And for those of you who are (ahem!) of legal age, you know your New Year's celebration will be lit. It can still be lit without alcohol, too!

11. Middle of New Year's Eve party: the bartender makes eye contact with you

You're passed tipsy, but you're not hammered yet. So you keep saying "yes" when you're offered more drinks.

12. This may be you and your friends at some point

If you're celebrating with friends, you know your night will be a lot better than getting wine drunk in your bed watching Netflix. Go out, but be safe.

13. By the time dawn is here, this is you

At the end of it all, you're having a good time. And that's what's important. Everyone is enjoying life and you couldn't ask for anything more. Happy holidays.

For those long nights that turn into mornings when the struggle is real.

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

"I want to thank Google, Wikipedia, and whoever else invented copy and paste. Thank you."

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate
Mental Floss

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."
