You've chosen your costume, you've gone out to parties, you've had the tricks and treats and whole nine yards of the holiday. Maybe you want to take a break from the costume parties and have a night in, or maybe you're just not ready to say goodbye to Halloween? Nothing's better than a good, old fashion movie night, featuring the best of the classics, some oldies but goodies, and the types that have you seeing dead people for another week after you've watched them.
Since 2016 seems to be the year for revivals, let's take a look at a few good throwbacks from Disney Channel's good days.
1. Halloweentown
The classic Disney DCOM that graces our screens every October. It's a can't miss!
Honorable mentions definitely go to the sequels: Halloweentown II: Kalabar's Revenge; Halloweentown High; and of course, Return to Halloweentown.
2. Hocus Pocus
Halloweentown's closest contender, the best of the best for a Halloween night.
3. The Little Vampire
Talk about your throwback. Stuart Little, anyone?
4. Mom's Got a Date With a Vampire
I had zero memory of this movie's existence until I started going through Disney's old movies. Who could forget Caroline Rhea, Halloween queen? (Aunt Hilda for the win.)
5. Casper Meets Wendy
We're not the only ones feeling nostalgic this year. Hilary Duff gave us this amazing throwback to her Wendy days in one of Casper's many movies. It's not a DCOM, but it's definitely a classic Disney brings back for the Halloween season.
6. Twitches
One of my personal favorites from my Disney Channel days, and one of Tia and Tamera's last productions for Disney! Who didn't love these twins?
Besides Disney's original productions, Freeform's "13 Nights of Halloween" adds a few musts to the list of marathon-worthy movies - mostly Tim Burton films because honestly, he is the definition of Halloween movies.
7. The Nightmare Before Christmas
8. Sleepy Hollow
Johnny Depp was honestly made for Tim Burton films.
9. The Addams Family
Not Tim Burton, but the classic of all classics. Weirdest family of all time, absolute Halloween must. (I dare you not to snap along with the song).
And for all those intense, horror movie fanatics (you seriously have my highest respect), I asked around for any recommendations for Halloween (I don't watch horror movies so I have no idea what's good or not) and these were the general consensus.
10. A Nightmare on Elm Street
Ah, Freddie Krueger.
11. Carrie
Even the poster creeps me out.
13. The Sixth Sense
Legend.
