It's finally the month of Halloween! This fang-tastic holiday has always been a personal favorite of mine. I mean, you get to get dressed up in costumes and get free candy? Yes, please! Not to mention the spooktacular Halloween themed puns that are begging to be made, but my favorite part of Halloween is the movies.

From family-friendly spooks to leave-the-lights-on-while-you-sleep haunts, here's 13 Halloween themed movies that will have you ready for the holiday faster than a child in a bedsheet can shout "BOO!"

1. "The Nightmare Before Christmas"

This is Halloween! This is Halloween!

2. "Hocus Pocus"

It would be a literal crime not to include this movie. The1993 classic never fails to put a spell on me.

3. "Halloweentown"

Can't go wrong with this Disney Channel original movie from 1998.

4. "The Addams Family"

No family does Halloween quite like the Addams family.

5. "IT"

IT strays far from the family-friendly movies. With the recent remake of Stephen King classic, it's only appropriate for Pennywise to make an appearance on any list related to Halloween.

6. "Children of the Corn"

Just in case you needed the reminder that children can be really creepy.

7. "The Exorcist"

What's Halloween without an exorcism?

8. "Beetlejuice"

A Tim Burton comedy-fantasy from 1988, "Beetlejuice" is an amusing addition to the Halloween movie line-up.

9. "The Babadook"

This film is almost included solely for the Babadook's resurgence into social media as a gay icon. Almost. "The Babadook" is a movie worth watching, especially if you hadn't heard of it before he became a gay icon.

10. "Monster House"

Alright, back into the more kid-friendly stuff. I really enjoyed "Monster House" when I saw it, and no one can tell me it wasn't enjoyable. It is perfect for the Halloween season.

11. "Ghostbusters"

The original 1984 movie, preferably.

12. "Coraline"

It is not necessarily a Halloween movie but is worthy of a spot on the list. "Coraline" is a remarkably creepy kid's movie.

13. "That One Halloween Movie That Always Plays on Cartoon Network But I Never Remember What It's Called"

Okay, so apparently, it's called " Scary Godmother" (Thanks, Google, for answering my super vague search of exactly what I put as the title). It's not particularly scary, but it fills me with nostalgia and reminds me that I'm not just making up some of the weird things I vaguely remember from childhood.

There are many good horror or Halloween-themed movies out there that I, unfortunately, can't name them all. Now, if you'll excuse me, there are some movies I need to binge right now.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Blair Waldorf
Stop Hollywood

For those of you who have watched "Gossip Girl" before (and maybe more than just once), you know how important of a character Blair Waldorf is. Without Blair, the show doesn’t have any substance, scheme, or drama. Although the beginning of the show started off with Blair’s best friend Serena returning from boarding school, there just simply is no plot without Blair. With that being said, Blair’s presence in the show in much more complex than that. Her independent and go-getter ways have set an example for "Gossip Girl" fans since the show started and has not ended even years after the show ended. Blair never needed another person to define who she was and she certainly didn’t need a man to do that for her. When she envisioned a goal, she sought after it, and took it. This is why Blair’s demeanor encompasses strong women like her.

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
