1. Coffee makes everything better.

No matter what time of the day it is, a nice hot cup of coffee will do you good.

2. You can’t force anything in life, including love.

All you can do in life is try, and if something does not work out the way that you wished it would have, it most likely was not meant to happen or for you to have.

3. Sometimes the person you are meant to fall in love with, has been there all along.

Don't go looking for the person you are meant to be with. When the time is right, they will come into your life and everything will work out. Patience is key.

4. Your mom is one of the most important people in your life.

Don't ever take your mom for granted. She is the one who has been there from day one. She has been your number one fan, your personal cook and your nurse. She would go to the end of the world for you because you are her baby. The love between a mother and child is unbreakable.

5. Don’t give up.

If you ever feel like quitting, just think of your dreams and how far you have come. If you put your mind to it, you can achieve anything.

6. Money is not everything.

You might not be the richest in the world, but you do what you can with what you have. You learn to work for what you want, and in the end, it will all work out. Money does not solve every problem in the world. Most importantly, you can't buy your happiness.

7. Follow your dreams.

Don't give up on yourself. If you have a dream, go for it! If you fail, get back up and try again. Great things do not happen on the first try.

8. It is OK to need your mom.

Your mom needs you just as much as you need her. If you miss her, she probably misses you too. It does not mean that you are a child or are weak because you need her, everyone needs their mom every once in awhile.

9. Sarcasm is needed in life.

Who doesn't use sarcasm in their everyday life? It keeps conversations going and keeps everyone on their toes.

10. Sometimes you need to take a break and go on an adventure.

In the most stressful parts of life, an unexpected road trip is needed. Take your mind off of things and go somewhere new. Maybe, even try it without a map!

11. Be proud of who you are.

Never regret the choices that you made that got you to where you are today. Instead, look back and be proud of how far you have come and how your decisions made a positive impact on your life.

12. Take chances.

Every once in awhile, you need to take a chance. Let loose and do something that you have never done before. How do you know that you won't like it if you never try it?

13. No matter what, family is family.

You may fight every day and not get along, but you are still family. Family will be by your side until the end. You are who you are today because of them. You may have not picked them out, but you would probably choose them anyways.

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.
