Going 46 hours without sleep is not for the faint of heart; let alone standing for that long. However, Penn Staters are never the ones to shy away from a challenge. With just over 700 dancers and over 15,000 students in attendance, THON has become the largest student-run philanthropy in the world. Now that the main event is right around the corner, everyone in Happy Valley is getting mentally and physically prepared. Here are 13 tips to help you last 46 for the cure!

1. FOOD, FOOD, FOOD!

Fortunately, the BJC is stocked with necessities to get everyone through the weekend. Everything from slushies to grilled cheese to pulled pork nachos, you'll be sure to find exactly what you're craving. BONUS: They accept meal points!

2. Stay hydrated. Always. At all costs.

Drinking water is vital to all of everyone, even when you're not dancing for 46 hours. Given the strenuous circumstances of THON, water should be one of your priorities.

3. Take laps around the BJC.

A change of scenery never hurt! Standing in one place will become tedious after 30 hours, so don't hesitate to grab a group of friends and take a little walk.

4. Don't stop dancing!

Whether you're busting out your own moves or practicing the line dance, dancing will undoubtedly keep your energy and morale high throughout time 46 hours.

5. Pack your fanny pack wisely.

THON will have you wondering why you don't wear these bad boys more often. Pack it with essentials and you won't have to worry about watching a bag all weekend long.

6. Pace yourself.

The first few hours are going to have everyone bouncing off the walls, but if you plan on lasting two more days you're going to need your energy.

7. Pretend the morning does not exist!

Don't dwell over what time it is! You really won't have any clue if the sun is up or not, so just keep on dancing and the final four hours will be there before you know it!

8. Embrace your exhaustion.

You're probably going to get a bit delusional from lack of sleep. That's O.K.! Make the most of it and you'll probably end up on the JumboTron.

9. Bring a change of clothes.

10. Get a portable charger

You can say you won't be on your phone, but we know you're lying. Instagram pictures and snap chat stories are perfect for bragging about all the fun you're having. You'll need to keep your phone charged and portable chargers are a great investment.

11. Give the Final Four hours your all.

These last four hours will be like a shot of caffeine. The energy you've been feeling drained of for 42 hours will magically reappear and you'll be sprinting through the home stretch. Also, the last four hours are an emotional time to realize all your hard work has paid off and how many children you are helping.

12. Have fun!

This is THE MOST IMPORTANT PART! The months of hard work have come to an end, now it's your turn to have a good time with the kids, your friends, and all of Penn State.

13. Remember it's all for the kids!!

Anytime you feel weak or your toes go numb, just remember who you are on your feet for. These kids fight for their lives and are truly an inspiration to us all. This is why we dance.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
