I hate doing lists, but since I hear you kids like them so much, oh well, here we go. So, it's Friday, the 13th, and you're bored and lonely. You want something to scare the pants off of you, but you don’t know what's out there to watch.

Well, in my lifetime, I've seen some scary and weird ass stuff, so I think I can help you out on your boredom, as well as your insomnia.

This isn't a list to rank or rate these films, this is just the stuff that popped in my head, so don't take it too seriously.

1. "Dead Alive"

This was one of Peter Jackson's earlier films before the cinema elites thought of him as the best storyteller by adapting those "Lord of the Rings" books. Dead Alive (or Braindead as its international title) was so gory with its special effects that the theaters provided barf bags to its patrons...which I'm sure every single one was used.

2. "Devilman"

As an anime fan, I can't let this one go unnoticed, especially if other people are anime fans. Devilman was originally a manga series by Go Nagai that features our protagonist Akira Fudou who gets possessed by a demon that went against Satan. Both Akira and the demon must fight off Satan's invasion of earth by combatting other demons from Hell.

The manga was adapted to a television series and then later OVA's in the late 1980's and you can expect the OVA's will give you an evening of enjoyment.

3. "Tremors"

This is basically if worms under the earth got really big for no reason and are terrorizing some random backwater Texas town. Tremors is a fun horror/action film, which features country western singer Reba McEntire and actor Kevin Bacon. It's definetly worth a watch with an evening with friends.

4. "Child’s Play" movies

Nothing gave my 12-year-old weird dreams more than the Child's Play movies. Child's Play is basically the story of how a convicted murderer's soul gets transplanted into a Good Guys Chucky doll which leads to murder all around...even 6 movies later. So, if you never wanna look at Cabbage Patch kids the same way in your lives, look no further.

5. "Chopping Mall"

Chopping Mall is essentially a film where drunken 20-somethings decide to cut loose, party and have sex at their mall jobs one weekend, which then turns into a bloodbath. With security robots that are deadlier than the Daleks from Dr. Who, you can expect a fun, cheesy body-count film to enjoy.

6. "Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust"

So back to anime stuff. So if you're someone that likes vampires and/or wants to like vampires but not those dumbasses from the Twilight movies, this is right up your alley. Vampire Hunter D is a novel to film adaptation with Bloodlust being the second one released.

It involves a damphir that goes around fighting other vampires to rid the world of them in the future...and we're talking about 10,000 years ahead of today. Not necessarily scary, but visually appealing and a fun movie to enjoy for the night.

7. "The Thing"

If there is one film from John Carpenter I like that I can play on Friday the 13th it would be The Thing. The film features a being that is taking out people at an arctic research center one by one. When you're in Antarctica with nowhere to run, all you can do is fight back. This is always a treat for me to watch either by myself or with friends.

8. "Crawlspace"

Crawlspace is essentially a creepy old landlord that stalks his tenants by using contraptions and crawlspaces to get around. He even has this whole house set up like something from Home Alone if Kevin was a psychotic maniac.

9. "Basket Case"

Have you ever wanted to hide your deformed Siamese twin in a basket when mom tells you to take your brother out of the house with you? Well, if that's you, then get help. For everyone else, Basket Case is for those people who never want to know what that experience is like in their lives, and to just have an enjoyable evening watching this film.

10. "Hellraiser"

Hellraiser is essentally a movie about a guy who wants to up his sex game with his girl, but it winds up summoning some bad BDSM people that can mess you and your family up. If you're not that guy and want a scary movie to enjoy with friends, then Hellraiser would be up your alley.

11. "Halloween"

John Carpenter was able to start up the slasher series in Horror with Halloween. Starts out with a crazy guy breaking out of his pad in an insane asylum and then he begins to hunt down teenagers and maybe some kids get invovled. This is considered to be one of the horror film classics and it's worth a watch at least once in your life.

12. "A Nightmare on Elm Street"

You ever thought you had a dream that was so real, you were glad you woke up from it? That's where A Nightmare on Elm Street takes us, where villain Freddie stalks teenagers in their sleep and kills them in their dreams. It has led to a lot of sequels because teenagers wanna see their own kind get murdered, I guess. Well that and see boobs on screen.

13. "Friday the 13th Part 1"

Part 1798032475897234589073408957...

Ok, ok, so there's really 12 of these films, but that seems like a whole lot of the same thing happening. Friday the 13th (other than it being a date on a calendar) is about a dead kid who grew up in a camp by a lake that decides to, you guessed it, kill more horny teenagers. But hey, it's a pretty essential horror flick along with Halloween and the other stuff on this list, so check it out.... just not at a camp, I wouldn't advise.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
