13 Emotions Every Abroad Student Goes Through About Going Home

Abroad is one of the most amazing experiences that I have had the opportunity of having and I am so glad that I got to spend an amazing four months in Florence. As my time comes quickly to the end, I can't help but feel a whole range of emotions: including sadness, denial, and a little excitement for Chipotle and Dunkin' Dounuts. There are so many things I feel and the only way to say it is gifs.

1. When someone tells you how many days are left.

2. "What are you going to do when you go home?"

3. Finals.

4. You should start thinking of packing.

5. "You need to start going to your favorite places for the last time."

6. People start talking about when you leave.

7. "You can turn in your keys for your deposit back."

8. "Go here before you leave."

9. "We leave so soon."

10. When your parents start talking about you coming home.

11. "Only four more classes."

12. When you know you have to leave soon.

13. And finally what you will look like in the airport.

Don't make me leave -- please.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.
