If you work in customer service, whether it be in a retail store, restaurant, or even movie theater, you have encountered many types of people. The majority of these people are nice, average customers, but sometimes you get some.... shall we say, interesting ones. These are 13 types of people you'll find if you work in customer service.

  1. "The Chip" question people- this is pretty much everyone; it's the question you probably get asked most: "do you have the chip?" If you do happen to have the chip, it seems to take ten times longer than just swiping the card, and you're left awkwardly standing there waiting.
  2. The Angry Customer- these are the people who couldn't find the right product, their favorite drink just got taken off the menu, or they're just a generally angry person. They're always short with you for no reason and sigh deeply a lot.
  3. The Money Saver- Whether their product is ringing up at the wrong price, they want to price match, or they want to use five coupons at once, these people always let you know that they'll do anything to save a couple cents. Sometimes they will have coupons from months ago, or ones that aren't even for your store. Yet, they still try to use them.
  4. The people you kinda know, but not that well- Those people that you recognize from somewhere but you don't actually know if you should start a conversation with them or not, so you just stare at each other awkwardly.
  5. The people don't read the signs-- There is literally a sign posted right in front of them, but they don't bother to read it and instead ask you. "no, the RED button is for credit" but you could have just read the sign...
  6. The ones who don't answer your question- These people are trying so hard to be quick but meanwhile they aren't actually listening to you. "Would you like your receipt printed or emailed?" "No".
  7. Cell phone users- you can't tell if they're talking to you or not (Bluetooth is even worse). It's just an awkward situation for everyone involved.
  8. The Creepy Flirt- You can just tell these people are being a little more than friendly to you. Please just move along, do you really have to tell me I'm "the best in the whole west" and wink at me? Thank you, but no.
  9. The Last Second People- people who come in at the last second and then don't leave for 20 minutes or don't buy anything- you really couldn't have come in an hour ago??
  10. The Excited Swiper- These people swipe their card before you even scan their items: what do you think you're paying for? That's doing absolutely nothing.
  11. The Weatherman: people that tell you "it's such a nice day outside! Too bad you're stuck in here"- yes, I know. I don't really want to be here either.
  12. The Storyteller: this person tells you their whole life story- whether you want to hear it or not. They have to tell you every detail of why they came in today to buy (fill in the blank)
  13. The Regulars- these are the people who have been coming to the store before you even worked there. They like to let you know that they know the store better than you do.

5 Things To Do That Are Better Than Writing A Paper

Don't waste your time trying to write that paper when there are so many more interesting things you could be doing.

Writing a paper is never fun and is rarely rewarding. The writer's block, the page requirement, be specific, but don’t summarize, make sure you fixed any grammatical errors, did you even use spellcheck? and analyze, analyze, analyze.

Papers can be a major pain. They take up so much time and effort that by the end of the process you hate yourself and you hate the professor for making life so difficult. Questions of your existence start roaming in your mind. Am I even cut out for college if I can’t write a single paper? Am I even capable of taking care of myself if I lack the energy to open my laptop and start typing?

I can barely remember back when I was the only child. Most would say it’s because it is extremely difficult to remember things as a toddler but I would say it's because I was bored until my sister came along. My mother always says how important the "sister bond" is and with every year that passes I realize how right she is. Instead of writing a novel about all of the wonderful things there are about having a sister I decided to list a few of them instead.

It is the time of our lives that we are beginning to enter the adult world and most of us, if not all of us, have no idea what we are doing. It's like starting a video game, but skipping the tutorial. We're all just running around aimlessly hoping we accidentally do something right that moves us along the right path. Now that graduation has just happened, or is right around the corner for some of us, it's time to start thinking about how we are going to take care of ourselves once we are on our own.

If you’re anything like me, you love a good cup of coffee. My coffee always comes from Starbucks; I refuse to drink it from anywhere else. Over the years, it’s become one of my biggest addictions. College involves a whirlwind of emotions, whether it’s from the stress of an assignment (or twenty), or from fighting with your roommate. It can be overwhelming at times and it’s important to take a step a back and calmly think things over. Maybe gain some perspective.
