Couples, let’s be honest. Nobody wants to see you guys go as peanut butter and jelly or two boobs in a bra anymore than you want to pay $40 for such a ridiculous costume. For years, it’s seemed like the only options for couples on Halloween are to go as a pair in a costume nobody likes, or go in something better, but separately. Thankfully, the internet has stepped in to help solve this dilemma. So here they are, thirteen couple’s Halloween costumes- ranging from sexy to nerdy to heart-wrenching to downright creepy- that will make you excited about going as a pair this year.

1. Khal Drogo and Khaleesi manage to be the perfect combo of nerdy AND sexy. Or, if it’s particularly cold where you are this Halloween, you could always go for Ygritte and Jon Snow.

2. Or you can opt for something creepier with a fisherman and his hooked mermaid.

3. Artsier folk can go as Van Gogh and Starry Night- just don’t forget the bloody ear!

4. Mr. Fredrickson and Russell from Up- perfect excuse to include your dog as Doug!

5. Curious George and the Man in the Yellow Hat make an adorable pairing.

6. Daisy Buchanan and Gatsby. Sure, it doesn’t end well, but it’s fabulous while it lasts! Plus, it’s a great excuse to wear a flapper dress and a suit.

7. Mr. and Mrs. Krueger will definitely be the most disturbing couple at the party- but they're so in love.

8. Wii remote and nun-chuck, for the avid gamers out there.

9. Spider-Man and Gwen Stacey- a little fake blood makes this one very tragic.

10. Allie and Noah from The Notebook, need I say more?

11. Black and White Swans from The Black Swan, so you can be the perfect combo of pretty and unsettling!

12. Silent Film Stars are another option to sneak the roaring twenties into your Halloween look- just be sure to have lots of black and white makeup with you!

13. Sia and Shia Labeouf from “Elastic Heart.” Don’t forget Sia’s crazy blonde wig! You could also go as Sia and Maddie Ziegler. The crazier the hairstyles, the better.

If you are in high school, here are some things that you can learn from before you get to college. If you have already been through your freshman year of college, hopefully you can relate to the things I have learned in college.

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.
