13 Bible Verses for When We Feel Like We Are Not Enough
Marielle Buttram

We’ve all been there. Circumstances that life throw at us make us feel like we are never going to be good enough. We disappoint people. People expect us to live up to these impossible standards. We compare our beauty and success with other people and claim that, because we don't look like them or have the same successes as them, we aren’t enough. It can consume our entire thought process. Guess what? You ARE enough. God created YOU in HIS IMAGE. He does not make mistakes. Everything you’re currently going through is going to lead you to where you need to be. Do not give up. Do not feel discouraged.

When you start questioning your worth, here are thirteen verses to remind you that you ARE enough. You, my dear friend, are PRICELESS. God has this wonderful plan for your life. Keep the faith. Be strong. Be courageous.

1. Psalm 139:14

"I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made."

2. Proverbs 31:25

"She is clothed with strength and dignity: she can laugh at the days to come."

3. 1 Samuel 16:7

"But the Lord said to Samuel, 'Do not consider his appearance or his height, for i have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.'"

4. Genesis 1:27

"So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them."

5. Jeremiah 29:11

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

6. Romans 12:2

"Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind."

7. Isaiah 43:1-2

"But now, this is what the Lord says — he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel: 'Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.'"

8. Ecclesiastes 4:4

"And I saw that all toil and all achievement spring from one person’s envy of another. This too is meaningless, a chasing after the wind."

9. Isiah 41:10

"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."

10. Proverbs 3:15

"She is more precious than rubies."

11. Philippians 4:13

"I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength."

12. Romans 8:28

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."

13. Romans 8:37

"No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loves us."

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
