Remember those those days when papers weren't due, when we were free to run around outside with the neighbor's kids and go over to their houses and make chalk drawings and play on their big sister' Game Cube? Those days when we didn't have to know the quadratic formula and spent the summers watching PBS at our grandmother's houses? Well, in light of upcoming finals, I've prepared a nostalgic list that will bring us back to a simpler time: Foods from our childhood.

1. Kid Cuisine

As a kid, who didn't love going to the frozen food section and help mom pick out your favorite Kid Cuisine? When the folks were too tired to cook dinner, it was always a treat to plop down in front of your favorite Disney movie with one of these. I can still remember the crackle of the special sprinkles that accompanied the vanilla pudding...yum.

2. Wonder Balls

Nestled in the Easter baskets and Christmas stockings of my childhood, the Wonder Ball truly deserved its name. I so enjoyed cracking the hollow chocolate open to reveal the entertaining gifts inside that ranged from character-shaped hard candy and stickers to washable tattoos.

3. Squeezit

Remember sitting out on the sidewalk on a hot summer's day with one of these in hand, mouth and tongue stained red? Yeah, you do. Just remember not to squeeze it too tightly or it might splash all over you!

4. Yogos

Ah, the child that had these coveted snacks at lunch was a lucky child indeed. They were so chewy and delicious, I wonder why they were discontinued?

5. Gripz

Similar to Yogos, Gripz were another snack that flourished during the on-the-go snack craze. I distinctly remember the Cheez-it ones....

6. Uh-Oh Oreos

Though I definitely remember these being a trend from my childhood, I cannot say that I enjoyed these as much as everyone else. I'm more of a classic Oreos girl myself, but at least these particular Oreos paved the way for new flavor experimentation.

7. Hi-C

Am I the only one that just now realized that Hi-C was called "Hi-C" because it was a good source of vitamin C? I think I might not have thought about that as a kid, but who cares? As long as I had one of these at my disposal as I colored in my coloring book, I was happy.

8. Scooby-Doo Fruit Snacks

As a child, I considered myself a connoisseur of fruit snacks. I can say with no small amount of prejudice that these fruit snacks were the best fruit snacks of all time. It's no mystery.

9. Flavorburst Ice Cream

I remember when my local Mickey D's had a Flavorburst machine and I thought that it was the best thing ever! I wonder whatever happened to it?

10. Danimals

Remember when Disney Channel stars like Dylan and Cole Sprouse would advertise these? I guess it made drinking liquid-y, thinned-out yogurt look cooler.

11. Chef Boyardee

I'm not ever going to lie, I STILL eat Chef Boyardee. A bowl of Beefaroni, a grilled cheese, and a glass of milk? A childhood classic.

12. Flinstones Push-Pops

My mom loved to give me these because it was the only popsicle I could eat without making a mess. But c'mon, isn't that part of the fun?

13. Dippin' Dots

Sold at ball parks and amusement parks galore, I recall kids begging for Dippin' Dots. Heck, I remember falling for the hype back in the day. But now I ask myself, were they really worth the price and did they really compare to good old-fashioned ice cream cones? No, I don't think so.

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.
