Thirteen Thoughts

To make your life so much easier, here are a list of hacks that I’ve actually tried and have actually worked.

1. Use a regular brush and a bobby pin to make a fan brush.

2. To make your eyes appear bigger, apply white eyeliner on your lower eyelid. And if you’re going for a smoky eye look apply eyeshadow below your eyelid.

3. When painting your nails, apply glue around the nail. This way you won’t have any excess polish around your nail.

4. To remove acne scars make a mask with lemon juice, cinnamon, honey, and nutmeg. Do twice a week and you’ll be sure to see results after the first two weeks.

5. Before applying your makeup, rub an ice cube over your face to help close pores and reduce redness. This will help your makeup last longer.

6. If you have dry, frizzy hair like me, towards the end of your shower rinse your hair with cold water. It will help defrizz your hair and make it sleek.

7. Use baking soda to clean out your pores.

8. Use a hair dryer to heat up your eyelash curler before curling your lashes. It will add more curl to your lashes.

9. To get beach waves with no heat, after your shower let your hair air dry until it’s slightly damp. Then divide your hair into separate braids, how many you want. Leave in overnight, and then in the morning your hair should be wavy like the ocean.

10. Most people probably don’t know this, I didn’t at first. But to find out when your makeup expires look on the box or product. IT should say a number.

11. For clear skin, apply aloe vera gel to your face for a couple of nights. Within a few days you should see a noticeable difference in your skin. This can also help with acne scars.

12. After painting your nails, to help dry them quicker stick them in a bowl of cold water for a few minutes. After this, they should be completely dry and smudge free.

13. To help your foundation last longer, use a damp beauty blender to set your powder with. This will help last your makeup for the day.

Dear High School Friend Group,

My sweet angels, where would I be without you guys. We all grew up together because we either met in middle school or high school and watched each other grow up and get "old." We got to go to prom together and then graduate together. Then watched each other as we continued our lives in college, joining sororities and meeting people who will impact our lives forever. It all has happened so fast.

Oh college, we can’t live with you, but we can’t live without you. It’s a love/hate relationship, really. College is an experience that no one can ever prepare you for, and maybe that’s a good thing. You never really expect any of the things that college encompasses until you are there. College is fun, but don’t have too much fun. C’s get degrees, but they don’t get you into graduate school.

Blair Waldorf

The "Gossip Girl" series may be over, but Blair Waldorf's iconic character lives in our hearts forever. Blair was the queen of the Upper East Side, and a character you either loved or hated. She taught us everything we needed to know about life, love and of course, how to score a Chuck Bass. So the next time you feel a bit lost and are in need of guidance, look no further than to the Queen B herself.

As I spend my Sunday avoiding my homework and other adult responsibilities, I realized that I've watched this series over and over about a million times. Sadly, there isn't a Blair quote I don't know, so I came up with a list of a few favorites. You know you love her...xoxo

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.
