13 Beach Day Hacks That Will Make Your Life Easier

The sun is shining and the weather is hot. Summer is officially in full swing, meaning beach day season has officially begun. A day at the beach can be tons of fun, but there are plenty of annoying little problems that arise that can take your day from perfect to stressful. Well, have no fear, because I am here. Here are 13 little hacks that can help keep your beach day smooth sailing.

1. Protect your phone from sand and water by putting it in a ziplock bag

2. Speaking of phones, but a baseball cap over your phone when you’re using it so you can still see the screen in the bright sun.

3. Buy beach towel clips to avoid your towel blowing away.

4. Use baby powder to quickly remove sand from your body.

5. Hide your money in an old chapstick container or maxi pad wrapper.

6. Set an alarm on your phone to remind you to re-apply sunscreen.

7. Put your shoes face down when you get there so they don’t burn your feet when you leave.

8. Freeze aloe vera in an ice cube tray to soothe a sunburn.

9. Freeze water bottles before going to the beach to make sure they stay cold.

10. Put your phone in a Solo Cup for a quick DIY speaker.

11. Put cupcake liners on top of soda cans while drinking them to avoid getting sand in your drink.

12. Bring a yoga mat instead of a blanket to lie down on while tanning for more cushioning.

13. The worst part about a beach day? The walk of shame up the beach when you leave. Freeze a towel and stick it in your cooler surrounded by ice. Wear it around your neck when you walk up to the boardwalk.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
