13 Awesome Parts About Summer

It's that time of the year again! Summer's just around the corner. But finals can be daunting; studying sucks and for Seniors it's like an itch you can't scratch. So, keeping in mind some of the season's greatest gems will help you push through these last two weeks. No matter where you head off to this summer, the items on this list are always a surefire way to keep your hopes up. If you're up to your neck in work just take five minutes to think about these awesome parts about summer and the time will start to fly by. Keep studying and stay smiling!

1. Sleeping in.

Let's start with the most gratifying part of summer: sleeping until way too late. Hands down one of the first things that's good about summer time is getting to sleep off all those one-nighters and hangovers.

2. Concerts / Music Festivals

Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, Hangout Fest and many more! Summer hosts some of the more popular music festivals each year. It's also prime time for touring.

3. Summer Blockbusters

Big budget films are often released during the summer because it attracts a larger audience. It's also when most super hero movies are released. Who's ready to see Suicide Squad?

4. Everyone's Home!

Friends and family are back in town. Going home is always a plus when you get to see people you love and you haven't seen in forever.

5. Water Parks

On a hot, summer day one of the most fun things to do is visit a water park. The slides are great for adrenaline junkies but if you want a more relaxed activity then hit the Wave pool.

6. Sunglasses Culture

This season always bring about some cool trends. Sunglasses are a great way to make a stylish statement.

7. The #1 Summer Hit

There's always that one summer jam that you dance to all season long. (Yas, Lemonade!)

8. Having a Picnic

Whether your with family or friends, good weather, snacks and drinks always leads to fun.

9. Wearing Less Clothes

This hot season requires freeing some skin.

10. Sno-Balls / Daiquiris

When the sun warms you up there's nothing better to cool down with then with some sno-balls. After 5 PM they taste better with rum.

11. Travel

What's better than going home? Going somewhere else.

12. Longer Days

The days are longer during the summer! This means you have more time to do all the awesome stuff you've been waiting to do!

13. Care-Free Vibes

The best part about summer is ultimately the state of mind it puts you in. Summer is a time to relax and have fun and worry less. Send good vibes and only accept positive energy and I guarantee you a very awesome, joyful summer.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"

While this question trend can get annoying, there are a couple of pros to having RBF.
