I have to say that junior year was the most fulfilling and exciting year so far of high school. So much happened, both good and bad, but I learned from it all. This year helped teach me about the importance of having a positive attitude with everything you do. My family and my troupe were always there for me, and I wanted to look back on some of my favorite memories of the year.
1. Dream Role with Dream Cast
I know, I talk about this show a lot, but it was truly one the most incredible experiences I've been involved in since I started during theater 7 years ago. Not only was this role my favorite, but I also performed alongside literally my best friends in the world.
2. GHP Rounds
This was probably the most stressful part of the school year but still unforgettable. I would not have been able to do it all without these amazing people, and they are some of the most talented people I know without a doubt.
3. Loves' Trip to the Bahamas
For fall break this past year, my parents and I went to Staniel Cay, Bahamas for a little getaway. We also got to tour UCF before we flew down to the island, and I will never forget spending the week with my incredible parents.
4. Ghost Hunting in Dahlonega
When CayCay was still dreaming of going to UNG in Dahlonega, we went ghost hunting in the town and took a ghost tour. These two are basically family to me, and I love them with all my heart.
5. Pentatonix Concert with the Love of My Life
One of my best friends ever invited me to go see Pentatonix in concert with her, and I could not pass this opportunity up. Maggie and I had a blast, and getting to jam to one of my favorite groups would not have been the same without her.
6. Original Works with an Original Gal Pal
Two of my friends, Parker and Annabelle, wrote an original play this year that I got to perform in January. My character, Beth, was a shy lesbian college student who found love with someone completely opposite of her own. It was a great experience, and I'm thrilled I got to do it with this crazy girl by my side.
7. Literary 2017
Working with these girls never really seemed like work. Getting second place with them was super exciting, and I loved the music I got to make with some of my best friends in the world.
8. ThesCon 2017
I always love ThesCon, so this shouldn't be a shock. I got to meet some amazing people, see incredible shows, and have the time of my life. I love theater, and this event always reminds me of how amazing the arts really are.
9. Dancing Queen, 17th Birthday Weekend
My birthday weekend this year was one for the books. I got to see two incredible shows with these girls, had rehearsal for one of the best shows ever, and my mom threw me a surprise lunch with some of my best friends. I'm so blessed!
10. Leap of Faith
Leap of Faith was such a crazy ride and an interesting show. Wearing 4 different, colorful choir robes for costumes is not something you get to do all the time. Thanks for the memories and the passion from this production.
11. Surprise Disney Trip with Best Friend
My best friend, CayCay of course, had never been to Disney, so my mom and I got to surprise her and take her to the most magical place. We got to spend the day in Magic Kingdom, and thank you for letting me be there for your first visit. It won't be the last adventure we take.
12. Shuler Awards 2017
Every year of high school (and eighth grade), I've attended the Shuler Awards. Last year, I got to perform with my school, which was life changing. This year, I got to perform in the opening and closing numbers. It was so much fun and a great learning experience, and I wouldn't want to have done it with any other guy. Thanks Schmuckie and love you!
13. Junior Prom
I got to go to Prom my freshman year, but this was my first prom of my own. I went with my bestest friends in the whole world, and you all made the night truly special. Look at how well we clean up too? (Yonathan not pictured but I love him very much)
This past year was so special, and thank you to all who were a part of it! I'm hoping senior year is just as incredible. If it is even better than this year, I think I might die of pure gratitude!
