12 WV Rappers You Need To Look Out For

You know that shocked but satisfying feeling you get from discovering something that existed all along? Yeah...that was me this past weekend at the WV Artist Showcase here in Huntington, WV. I had no idea that there was so much musical talent coming out of WV. While I can't make up for lost time, I can make it a point to spread the word about just how impressive these local artists are.

DaKidQuence

“I AM MUSIC.”

This super turnt 23-year-old coming out of South Charleston, WV is ready to change the typical components of today’s hip-hop with not only his high-energy but also his versatility as an artist. DaKidQuence started off as “Consequence” before he learned that an artist signed by Kanye went by that name. He chopped his name down to just “Quence” until he got his swag up enough to add “DaKid.” Hits like ‘Limos’ and ‘Pass It’ prove that this artist is beyond capable of producing both dope club-bangers and music made to inspire. With his son as his biggest motivation, DaKidQuence says he’s on his way to the top.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

It's not all morning coffees and singing along to the radio.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.
