Tennessee is a great environment to grow up in. I wouldn't trade growing up here for anything. It has made me the true Southern-Tennessean girl that I am proud to say I am.Tennessee is different from any other state in the BEST ways. Tennessee is where the heart is. You know if you are from here too, and that it is the most amazing state to live! And here are 12 reasons when you know you're from Tennessee and you know you are a true Tennessean.

1. “Y'ALL” That’s right, it is your favorite word. Say it. Say it again. Y'all come on over now! You say it, your mom says it, your family says it, now say it. Y'all live in Tennessee, right?

2. Now say that in your famous TN country accent. “Y'all.” Because that’s what you’re known for, is that country accent. Whenever you go out of state you get "Oh my gosh your accent."

3. Tennessee Vols! You are a Vol fan for life, for eternity, for love. This is their year, my friends! Get ready for September! Go Vols!!

4. Home-cooked meals are your favorite. Country ham, mashed potatoes, peas, and corn. Mhm, you want that right now, don’t you? Time to get grandma and momma in the kitchen cooking!

5. The Grand Ole' Opry/ OpryLand. If you haven't been there you're missing out on a grand ole time. Especially OpryLand at Christmas. The Opry always has something fun going on from shows to country music stars.

6. Tennessee Whiskey. Oh yeah, the song too, but really Jack Daniels Whiskey. Lynchburg is the home of the famous whiskey. If you're from TN, you've most likely been and taken multiple pics.

7. You LOVE country music, and by love you LOVE it. You love Rock N Roll, and Elvis Presley. You love Nashville. You love it all. It is the prime time of Nashville, TN.

8. You and your friends have missed school for questionable snow, that you never saw. But, you celebrated it like never before.

9. You support the Broncos, only because two words- Peyton Manning. It's called dedication.

10. You get way too excited for Tax Free Weekend. Like really excited. "WHEN IS TAX- FREE WEEKEND?!"

11. You love Dollywood and Gatlinburg, and the Smokey Mountains are the best place for a get-away family trip.

12. You know every single word to Rocky Top. You'll never forget it. It is Tennessee's theme song, and personally the best SEC football tune.

Rocky Top you'll always be home sweet home to me. I'm sure most Tennessean's can relate to all these, and plenty more. Now if you read this and you don't live here you know you want to now! Thanks for reading!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
