A healthy body and mind is crucial to having a great run of a show. Getting into the habit of living a healthy lifestyle is a must for an actor or actress.

Here are 12 ways to take care of your voice during the run of a show:

1. Hydration

Drink LOTS and LOTS of water!!!

2. Sleep


7 or more hours a night is very important!

3. Proper Diet/Vitamins

Take lots of vitamins and eat as cleanly as you can.

4. Exercise

Try to get a mini workout in everyday! I love doing cardio and core workouts. It will help you connect to your breath.

5. Raw Local Honey


Great for your voice and delicious if you're into honey!!!

6. Slippery Elm

Fabulous for your voice!!

7. Steam with Eucalyptus Oil

If your voice is feeling tired, this will get you back to feeling great!

8. Yoga/Stretches



I do 20 to 30 minutes of yoga every morning!

9. Heat On Neck and Back Before Bed

Before I go to sleep I have a heating pad that I put on my neck and back. It relaxes my muscles and helps me sleep better.


10. Tea


Chamomile tea is great before or after a performance!


11. Apple Cider Vinegar

A little bit of this with some honey and lemon will keep you super healthy!

12. Positivity

Stay positive and enjoy every single moment of your run!

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!
