1. Open your windows.
This one's pretty simple.
2. Put a vase (or cup, or mug) of flowers on your desk or bedside table.
If your windows are open, it'll carry their scent over your whole room!
3. Add some plants!
I've got a succulent and some lavender in my window (although after Spring break, I think they've died...)
4. Dust and vacuum.
Do it in that order, and from top to bottom in your room so that you don't have to repeat something you already did (you don't want to vacuum and then dust, and then have to vacuum again because of all the newly-settled dust particles)
5. Get as much light in your room as possible.
Pull up your shades and turn on lamps and fairy lights if you have them. I can't function in a dark room!
6. Redecorate.
I'm not talking rearranging your whole room, but set up your pillows in a different way, hang up some new wall art, or move some things around on your desk. Subtle changes can make your room feel like new!
7. Change your sheets.
I would hope this isn't just something you do in March, but I do mine every other Friday and climbing into a set of fresh sheets always feels nice.
8. Spray some room freshener.
Honestly, I just use perfume. Find a scent you like and spray away! (Just be wary of using too much -- it's easier to do than you think)
9. Reorganize your closet.
I like to color-code mine, but you can do it by season, length, or whatever else you like!
10. Pack up your heavy winter clothes.
Taking some of them home is an option if you can, but I have a bin under my bed with "Chloe Next Season" written on it that houses the clothing that doesn't go with the present weather. Soon we'll be able to store our sweaters and unpack our tank tops and shorts!
11. Switch out books, magazines, and trinkets.
I'm an avid fashion magazine reader, so over Christmas, I switched out my fall and Christmas magazines for some Spring and Summer issues! And if you have any small items in your room that are darker colored or look more autumnal, swap them for brighter-colored ones.
12. Clean out your desk.
I still have papers from last semester in my desk drawers that I could undoubtedly throw away...I've been meaning to take care of those.
Hope this helps! Welcome, Spring!
