All students can relate to the mid-semester feeling of misery. Assignments begin to pile up, work becomes overbearing, club activities seem non-stop and we all begin to slowly lose motivation for almost everything. Spring break comes as a small moment of relief, teasing us with the pleasure of no responsibilities and relaxation. The mid-semester drag might be rough fall semester, but it becomes even worse during the spring, especially when warmer weather starts to poke its head back into our lives and summer vacation creeps closer and closer with every paper we write and tear we shed.
Soon enough, we find ourselves pursuing different methods to make the pain more tolerable and to distract ourselves from the never-ending workload. Picking up a yoga class might help, as might taking an extra nap during the week or even taking a hike through nature. No matter what coping method you use, one thing is certain: Joey Tribbiani from "Friends" is one of the few people who can relate to us in nearly any situation.
The lovable character from the popular show is a college student in many ways - broke, always hungry, slightly naive, thirsty for love and most of all, full of energy. Joey's sweet disposition, in more ways than one, is the perfect example of the way the majority of students feel by the time the middle of spring semester rolls around: tired, ready for change and broke.
