Time
Thanksgiving is the perfect time to appreciate what we have in our lives: our house, our health, and our happiness. Take time this break to reflect on those things. A warm house with warm people, a healthy life with no burdens, happiness beyond compare. However, this is not the only time we should be reflecting on these blessings, we should strive to always give thanks for the blessings we have.
Hardships
Thanksgiving is where we must think back on all the struggles and hardships we have faced up to now. Despite those battles, we have overcome them and should look back on those times and feel strong. Getting through difficult situations makes us more appreciative.
Age
Although each year everyone at the Thanksgiving table is one year older, the celebration of communion does not age. We never get tired of celebrating Thanksgiving with family and friends.
Night Football
Give many thanks for College Football. In regards to watching either the Louisville vs. Kentucky, Notre Dame vs. USC, or Auburn vs. Alabama game: no matter the outcome of the game, remember the happiness felt while you are tailgating all day long.
Kentucky Home
For my Thanksgiving break I will be driving back to my old Kentucky Home. No matter where home is for you, remember home is not a place, but rather, the people you surround yourself with.
Service
Take time out of your Thanksgiving break to serve others. Maybe volunteer in a local soup kitchen, serving food to those who do not have access to any. After all, giving has a big part in the word Thanksgiving.
Grace
I will be spending most of my break with my awesome sister Grace. If you all do not know her you should change that- she would make each of your lives happy, and not just on Thanksgiving.
Ice Cream
Ice Cream never fails to make someone happy. Enjoy a nice Apple, Cherry, or Derby pie alongside your favorite flavor of ice cream. After all, the Freshmen 15 can’t stop when you come home on breaks.
Voting
No matter who you voted for in this past election, do not let political views disrupt Thanksgiving dinner with your family.
Invitations
Invite everyone you know to come over and Watch a Charlie Brown Thanksgiving or the Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Both are true bonding experiences.
Nectar
Whether you are drinking apple cider, a pumpkin spice latte, Kentucky Gentlemen whiskey like my Grandfather will be, or Bourbon and Water which my Grandma will be enjoying alongside him in Heaven, appreciate the warmth and comfort these drinks bring.
God
Last but certainly not least, God should be the one we must remember to give thanks for. Without him, we would not be able to have special moments with our families. We must thank Him for his protection, guidance, and love.
