John Oliver is one of the most emotionally expressive late night show hosts out there. He frequently rants about various subjects, yells expletives at the graphics beside him, and bangs his hands on his desk to make a point. One might say that he's quite GIFable. I have no doubt that even if you don't watch John Oliver regularly, you can relate on a deep personal level to at least one of his signature movements. Keep reading for a list of times John Oliver accurately described your life.

1. When you have to congratulate someone against your will

We've all been there: someone delivers news that you know you're supposed to be excited about, but you just aren't. That's where the golf clap comes in handy.

2. When all you want to say is, "Get a load of this guy!" but you can't actually say it out loud

It's often difficult to subtly acknowledge the stupidity around you. John Oliver understands.

3. When your faith in humanity is finally restored

Well done mankind, you accomplished something without enormous negative consequences!

4. When you finish your finals and you just want to rub it in someone's face

Yes, you care that your dear friend still has their bio exam tomorrow, but nothing is getting in the way of your celebration!

5. When your friend finally pays you back for the concert ticket you bought them months ago

It happened, but now you know: never again. They will not remember to reimburse you unless you remind them for months.

6. When you treat yourself after a long day of classes, work, and general stress.

Those moments of pure relaxation are few and far between during a busy school year, but when they come, they're glorious.

7. When you're 0.03 points away from an A but this is college and rounding doesn't exist

You may be legally an adult now, but internally you still whine like a baby over the frustration of grades that are literally millimeters from the next highest grade.

8. When your library neighbor and their friend just won't shut up

Your study habits are precious and finely tuned. No one can get in the way of that.

9. When your favorite band is playing nearby and you can't contain your excitement

It's hard not to squeal like a raccoon when you know the concert of your life is in your near future.

10. When you have to explain to your buddy why you never showed up at their party last night

Hey, sometimes things come up, and you genuinely don't have a good reason for not following through. All you can do is shrug your shoulders and hope that your natural charm will carry you forward into your next adventure.

11. When you overhear juicy gossip that you probably should not have heard

What's that you say? So-and-so is taking a gap year? Such-and-such was fired from their job? Oooooh, that's almost too interesting for my ears to handle!

12. When you become fully aware of your own awesomeness

Watch out world, summer is here and you are 100 percent ready for it. So ready that if you could literally shoot fire from your hands in triumph, you would.

John Oliver just seems to get it, doesn't he?

You get to check things off of your requirement checklist. It's an opportunity for a fresh start with new classes (which you tell yourself you'll never skip.) 10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.
