Think about the television franchise that your tween years revolved around. Didn't you always wish you could attend East High and hopefully find a Troy Bolton of your own? You were convinced that this was exactly how high school would be thanks to these movies, though you were definitely in for a rude awakening when you realized that getting your head into the game wasn't your biggest issue. Here is list compiled of ways that High School Musical lied to you as a child.
1. Drew Seeley was Troy's singing voice.
You'll never listen to "Breaking Free" the same way again.
2. You and all of your friends would get summer jobs at the same establishment.
Your boss probably also won't appreciate you not working and dancing in the kitchen instead.
3. Karaoke will change your life.
I want a love story like Troy and Gabriella, though I could do without the karaoke.
4. Prom night would be iconic.
There is nothing that magical about a sweaty dance floor chock full of horny teenagers.
5. Everyone at your high school would become a big, happy family.
You most definitely we're not "all in this together."
6. High school was where you'd find true love.
There are more fish in the sea outside of high school!!!!!!
7. The extra curriculars were outstanding.
I've never known a school to make their auditions full blown performances (looking at you Bop to the Top).
8. Your crush appearing at your bedroom window is not creepy at all.
Not one bit.
9. The very unrealistic amount of time outside of class.
Did these kids really go to school?
10. The college process is a breeze.
Okay, but where was the SAT storyline?
11. The entire school would go crazy if you didn't stick to your clique.
I promise, nobody will ever care this much.
and last but not least...
12. A killer song will eliminate all of your problems.
If you can perform an entire solo with choreography then your issues clearly aren't too important.
