Recently, my roommate finished all of the Harry Potterbooks for the very first time. Obviously, that feat called for a celebration and by celebration, I mean "watch all of the Harry Potter movies in a row until you've developed a British accent and have a strong hankering for butterbeer." Unlike my roommate, I have seen all of the movies too many times to count, but it's always nice to go back and relive the magic. In doing so, I have found that, with every showing, you can discover more and more tiny details that make the film even better (or sometimes even more amusing). One thing that is always prominent though, is how stinking cool Hermione Granger is. Just in case you don't know, I have complied a somewhat complete list (there are really too many times to really count) of the times that the Hermione has been the toughest cookie in the world.

1. There was that one time where she just jumped onto the back of a dragon like it was no big deal.

2. Remember that time when all the guys in Dumbledore's Army were telling Ron to beat Hermione during dueling practice and she LITERALLY BLEW HIM AWAY?

3. She's even tougher without a wand.

4. She was once picked up by a giant but still managed to scold the giant.

So that's cool.

5. Oh and there was that one time when she was being chased by some Snatchers and she just casually cast a spell behind her without missing a beat.

6. There was that one time when the love of her life came back and instead of rushing into his arms, she threw leaves at him and hit him with his own rucksack.

Granger ain't got no time for the sappy stuff.

7. Harry and Ron were fighting once and asked her to be her messenger and she just wasn't having it.

8. Once, she blasted a cell door open to rescue Harry's godfather while Harry just stood by.

9. This is a sad one, but we can't forget that she erased herself from her parents' memory in order to protect them and to go off and help defeat Voldemort.

Bravery at its most extreme.

10. There was that one time* when she stood between Harry and someone everyone thought was a murderer and told him, "If you want to kill Harry then you'll have to kill us too."

*in the Prisoner of Azkaban film. In the book it was Ron who said the line. However, she still physically put herself in front of Harry.

11. There was that time when the Yule Ball came around and Ron kept saying that she didn't have a date and she casually rolled up with the best seeker in the world like a queen.

12. There's that part where she was tortured by Bellatrix Lestrange and still didn't betray her friends.

In my opinion, that scene in the film is by far the hardest part to watch.

13. Throwback to that time when she straight up slayed Lavender Brown after she accused Hermione of wanting to steal her man because he's suddenly "all interesting."

I mean, she does eventually, but still.

14. And last but not least, when she gave Harry and Ron their very first talking to, making sure they are well informed of the consequences of their actions.

All hail Queen Hermione.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
