There are times where you are awkward and then there are times where your awkwardness takes on a whole new kind of awkward and a new level is achieved. We all know the struggle and we can all relate. Denial is only the beginning of a twelve step process...
1. When the waiter or waitress or the guy at McDonalds says "enjoy your meal" and you say "you too."
2. When someone says "what's up?" and you say "I'm good, how are you?"
3. When you open the door for someone and they say "thank you" instead of saying "you're welcome" you also say "thank you."
4. When you say "bye, love you!" to the insurance agent on the phone or your barista or the cashier or basically anyone who you shouldn't be saying "love you" to.
5. When someone ahead of you holds the door open for you and you half jog to catch up and you're out of breath.
6. When you start telling a story to your mom and realize half of it involves something illegal and/or inappropriate so you try and make something up on the spot.
7. When you told someone you were on your way or almost there and you haven't even left the house yet and you show up too late for it to be believable.
8. When you're waving at someone and someone else in the same direction thinks that you're waving at them...
9. When you can't understand what someone is saying even though you've asked like 5 times already so you just nod and say "Yeah" with a little chuckle.
10. When you make eye contact with the same person over and over and over again.
11. When you don't communicate and someone goes for a hand shake and the other person goes in for a hug and you end up with someones arm smashed between the two of you.
12. When you ask someone how they are and they say "good, you?" and you also say "good, you?"
Oh my god that was painful.
