If you live or go to school in the Northeast, you're familiar with the term "snow-pocalypse." It refers to the kind of storm where the roads ice over, you're entire field of vision is white, and yet somehow you're still expected to go to class. Anyone who's ever been caught in this dreadful situation will recognize these thoughts. Because when it's that snowy outside, the snow is the only thing you're thinking about. Here are 12 thoughts you have while walking to class in a snow storm.

1. It's probably not as bad as it looks.

You wake up in the morning and look outside your window, or try to anyway. But you can barely see the house across the street. Class isn't cancelled though, so it must not be so bad. Right?

2. On second thought, it's so much worse.

The view from your window could never do this weather justice.

3. How can I be expected to make it to class when I can barely see three feet in front of my face?

You keep your head down as you trudge through snow up to your ankles, and the whole time all you can think is: why, professor, why? What did I ever do to you to deserve this cruel and unusual punishment?

4. Why did I move here again?

Even if you're from the Northeast, there are definitely some cities that are snowier than others. So what if one of the best schools for your major happens to be located in the Northeast? Surely you could have done just as well somewhere down south!

5. Why is this wind so cold!?

How is this level of frigidity even possible!?

6. Just why?

Why did you move here? Why are you outside? Just why?

7. This ice can hold my weight, right?

Wait, no, that's not even ice! It's a melted puddle of slush! And now you're up to your ankles in cold, muddy water. Great.

8. Even my good boots aren't good enough for this winter.

Unlike Puss, your boots were unfortunately not made for walking. Not in snow at least.

9. Finally, a patch of clear ground.

Nope, this time it actually is ice.

10. I didn't just fall. You didn't see that.

We've all done it before. You might have slipped, but you've got the moves to make it look intentional — almost.

11. I can't feel my face.

Or my fingers, or my toes for that matter.

12. And I still need to go through this all again.

You're so proud of yourself for surviving the storm and making it to class. Then you remember you'll need to go through all that again to get back to your dorm room.

Did these thoughts and experiences sound a little too familiar to you? Well, that's how you know you go to school in the Northeast. Good luck with the rest of winter, because it's nowhere close to over!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
