Many of us have had that wake-up call where we realized we are not as in shape as we used to be. It then becomes apparent that we need to make some changes in our diet and exercise routine...which may mean actually having a diet and exercise routine.
Here are some thoughts that might go through your head when you are trying to get back into living a healthier lifestyle:
1. I'm gonna eat a salad...that's healthy right?
*Covers salad in a ton of fattening ranch*
2. I'm going to cut pop out of my diet and drink La Croix instead.
*Realizes you would rather drink water all the time than drink another La Croix again*
3. Why can't my metabolism work in my favor for a change?
Why can some people eat literally everything under the sun and not gain a pound, yet I gain like 10 pounds just looking at pizza?
4. Meal prep is a wonderful thing!
Dough, cheese, pepperoni, and veggies? Sounds like a well-balanced meal to me!
5. I think I am already starting to look thinner!
*Started diet like 24 hours ago*
6. Can you burn calories during a nap?
All that contemplation about going to the gym now has me super tired!
7. Today is the day I am going to go to the gym.
*Thinks about the day ahead* Hmm maybe tomorrow.
8. When you actually get to the gym and feel like a boss just for being there.
Look at me, look at me getting all fit!
9. *Just had the best workout ever.*
Time to celebrate that workout with some Taco Bell!
10. Can God just make me skinny already?
Pretty please?!
11. Realizing almost all the food you love is full of carbs.
Is there any food that tastes good that doesn't have carbs?!
12. *Lost 5 pounds last week. Loses nothing this week.* This healthy lifestyle thing is a bunch of crap!!!
The scale must be malfunctioning!!!
The road to losing weight and maintaining a healthy lifestyle is rough at times. It is very hard to get back into the swing of things, but don't let the negative and counterproductive thoughts convince you to give up. Keep making strides to get that healthy body you've been aiming for!
