It's that time again. The time to start stressing and planning for March 21 to April 6. That's right, it's class registration time, y'all, the best and worst time of your academic year. Being able to plan out your next fall and winter classes are always exciting, and it is especially exciting for planners like me. This is true because by the this time us planners have already avidly perused ratemyprofessor.com and determined the best class times. But this is also the worst for planner-type students, because depending on the amount of credits you have, you might be stuck having a later registration date. This makes it highly more likely that we will not get the classes we have been stressing over. Here are a few tips for managing that stress and/or simply living with it. Enjoy!
1. Don't panic. Everything's fine.
2. Don't worry, the registrar will still probably screw up your schedule eventually.
3. Make lots of coffee, because you will probably be pulling an all-nighter.
4. Don't worry, all those core classes will still be there when you're a senior, and you'll honestly probably get a better professor.
5. Ask your upperclassmen friends to help you out by registering for a class you really want, and then have them drop it for when your registration day comes up.
6. Take classes based on the amount of textbooks that you need to buy.
7. Invest in ice cream and espresso.
8. Call mom, or go home.
9. Go to reliable wifi. If you can't get off-campus, use an ethernet cord.
10. Maybe invest in some Xanax...or ask your mother for some.
11. Definitely go on ratemyprofessor.com. It is a lifesaver.
12. Just breathe. It gets better as you get older.
