We all have to eat. It's a part of life, but technically we do not all have to eat out. However, most of us do and that's when servers in the industry come into play. These people bust their hump to make sure that you have the best experience possible so it's important that you make their time worth it. Here is a list of things that your server is tired of hearing.

1. "Can I have more ranch?"

I can tell if you're just trying to drown your food or you want a straw?

2. "What would you suggest?"

I would suggest that you pick what you know you like because my manager isn't comping your meal just because it's not your taste.

3. "Are you sure this is sweet tea?"

I'm actually positive because I put 6 cups of sugar in the vat at 9 a.m. on the first part of my double.

4. "How long is the food going to take?"

8mins-tilwheneverthehellit'sdone. If you really have an issue with how long it takes please don't come to a sit-down restaurant.

5. "What comes on the garden salad? OK, can you take off 4 of the 6 toppings?"

Oh of course, because my favorite thing to do is deconstruct a salad that I made earlier.

6. "Are these all the dressings you have?"

What? You can't choose from the list of 15 that you're pointing to on the menu?

7. "OhMyGod there is no way that I could possibly eat dessert! Are you kidding?!"

No, I'm doing my job. I have to ask you if you want dessert... I know you can't fit it because you ate a pound of pasta.

8. "Can I get a refill?"

I just don't know how you go through 4 24 ounce sodas in 10 mins but that's fine.

9. "We need the kids food out first and we also need to make this quick."

Oh ok, I'm sure that everyone in this establishment would love to stop what they are doing and get your food out first.

10. "You seem busy, do you need some help?"

Oh I seem busy? Was it the fact that we're on a wait or that I was double sat or that I have a 12 top and four other tables? And no I don't need help I need you to have your order ready when I ask for the fourth time and for you to pace yourself drinking.

11. "It's crazy in here! At least you make a decent hour wage so tips don't matter!"

HAHAHA WHAT?!?!?! No, I make $2.13 an hour. Your tips (when you decide to tip properly) are what pay my bills.

12. "OMG, it seems like you're always here!"

Well sadly I am always here.. However, I don't know if it's worse that I'm always here or that you're here enough to realize that I'm always here.

Just keep in mind that we have a lot on our plates and nothing is ever personal. You never really know what that server is going through or what happened on their shift so be nice and understanding and you might turn their day around. Oh and would you like lemon in your water?

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
