Having a guy best friend should be on every girl's’ list of priorities. Having a guy best friend has taught me many valuable lessons, and made me a much better person. I would never change that for anything. I am so incredibly lucky to have a such a great friend. Here are some things you would only understand if you are a girl with a guy best friend.

1. Everyone always asks if you are dating.

No, we are not dating! Unless you are that creepy guy, then yes of course we are dating. We are not dating, never have and never will!

2. “You guys would be perfect together.”

We know! We are the most perfect pair of best friends you can find. That is why we are best friends.

3. You never have to worry about them judging you.

Normally because they are the one being weird right beside you. You never have to dress up to see them, game nights in your sweats are completely acceptable.

4. DRAMA FREE!

And neither does he. Sure, we have petty arguments but those end quickly. Fights usually consist of what park we are going to eat our ice cream in. We never get caught up in drama and always enjoy our time together.

5. They always have your back.

No matter what idiotic thing you did, they will stand up for you. They will constantly support you, even if you do not support yourself.

6. You do not have to worry about the negatives.

With a guy best friend you never feel pressured to tell them if something is bothering you, and when you do they instantly make you feel better.

7. They are great listeners.

No, seriously I swear they are! My guy best friend can listen to me ramble on for hours about nothing important and never once tell me to stop.

8. They are up for anything.

Whether it is driving around town for hours, going to get food, or even to the craft store he is always right there to go with you.

9. You can pig out with them.

You NEVER have to worry about what you eat in front of them. None of that we are on a diet, or do you know how many calories is in that b.s.

10. Nicknames, and lots of them.

Somehow they have a nickname for you, for every situation you are going through. Got your wisdom teeth removed? “Aw how are you feeling, babushka?”

11. They are so easy to get along with.

You can literally connect over anything. You like pizza? Me too! You like “most popular girls in school?” Me too!

12. True Friendship.

He’s your real friend. He always tells you the truth, will never complain about you behind your back and is always there when you need him. If you are lucky enough to have a guy best friend hold on to them as long as you can, I know I will.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
