There are tons of things to do on a college campus and in college towns themselves. These are some of the "musts" that you need to do before the end of the semester at Lock Haven University.

1. Attend a sporting event.

There is nothing better than experiencing game day! No matter what the sport, go cheer on your fellow classmates.

2. Join a club.

There are over 100 clubs and organizations on campus. You should be able to find at least one club that has something to offer to you.

3. Go to local restaurants.

It is nice to have something other than Bentley every once in awhile. My advice is go out to eat. I am not going to put a specific restaurant because Lock Haven has so many to pick from! I just recommend that you support your locals.

4. Go to Avenue 209.

Coffee shops are my favorite and I don't even like coffee that much. That doesn't stop me from making frequent trips to Avenue 209. It is a great place to study, hang with friends, grab a drink and a snack and listen to live music!

5. Attend some programs in your residence hall.

Some of them are a lot more fun than you think they would be! I always love to take a quick break from my school work to go do some arts and crafts.

6. Play an intramural sport.

You don't have to be great at the sport to participate. Intramural sports are a great way to stay active and to take some stress away.

7. Go to a HAC sponsored event.

They put on great activities; it is a nice break away from school work.

8. Meet up with a professor/advisor for coffee/lunch.

I love doing this because you can learn a lot from individuals who have a lot of experience in their field. Making connections early is very important.

9. Go to the university commons.

This is really a great space to just get outside and relax. We all need fresh air and this is a wonderful place on campus. Take a frisbee or a ball and go play in the grass.

10. Stay on campus for a weekend.

You should really stay on campus every weekend because there is so much to do and you will meet a lot of awesome people. If you don't want to stay every weekend, at least make it your mission to stay at least one. You won't regret it.

11. Visit the bookstore.

Now that our bookstore actually looks like a bookstore, it is amazing. Go check it out and buy some LHU gear.

12. Cook a meal with some friends.

Every once in a while, choose a night out of the week and plan to make a meal with some friends. Cooking can be really fun, and food is great!

The 5 Painfully True Stages Of Camping Out At The Library

For those long nights that turn into mornings when the struggle is real.

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."
